last console i owned was the N64. Now i've got the wii, and i'll tell you im not 100% satisfied. I think alot of that is cause im older, and i've only been playing pc games for years. But a friend of mine loaned me MP2 so i went out and bought a controller and memory card. I really lack the skill set to play FPS and have always shied away from them, but dang! MP2 is sweet. it just seems like a way more finished game than anything i've played for the wii. Like that game is a real video game and Twilight Princess is just a rough Draft. This isn't really a topic though, i'm just saying, wow! MP2 is great.

I agree with you that Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is the best Nintendo-published game in years, but I don't think it's that much better than Twilight Princess. Consider yourself lucky to have a friend who knows to lend you the single best game on the GameCube.

In my opinion.

i don't really know. compared to MP2 it just seems not as whole or complete or professional or something. I like TP and all but MP2 made me think, "this is the real deal," or "this is what the wii needs."

Well of course MP2 feels more complete, it's the sequel to one of the best games ever made and came out around 4 years after the cube came out, TP is a ported gc game on a system that can do 2 or maybe 3 times that.

What annoyed me the most was when switching to morph ball mode and back in MP2 Samus had the stiffest running motion

yeah metroid prime 1 is a LOT better than 2... but they are both AAA grade material, it's just really the world in metroid prime 2 was a bit boring really, compared to 1

it had too, systematic an approach to it's layout, with the 3 branches, and then the dark world being the same

prime 1 is my favourite game of all time, equal with OoT

You're right, MP2 is amazing. But MP1 is the single best game ever made. If you think you're having fun now, wait until you play the first one.

I don't know about that, for me, I could get a running start out of boost ball (and needed to, quite often against a couple bosses) way easier than in Metroid Prime. Also, the added ability to boost off spider ball tracks gave the puzzles a lot more depth. But even before you get the spider ball, the puzzles in Metroid Prime 2 are far more interesting, and every boss in Metroid Prime 2 (and most of the mini-bosses) are way better than each boss in every previous Metroid game.

Honestly, Quadraxis alone is enough to put Metroid Prime 2 over the top for me.

If you don't understand my reasoning for such things, read that review I linked to, and then it will all make sense.

I also reviewed Metroid Prime. It isn't that I didn't like the game, in fact, I love all theMetroidgames, it's just that Echoes is slightly better.

:P ur just like me in Metroid. Quadraxis is an great boss fight but the last 3 on Prime 1. Omega, Meta Ridley and Metroid Prime are excellent boss fights. Thardus is also an excellent boss fight. Echoes is good but kinda wierd how they went way of Zelda with Light and Dark.

I am sure Corruption will be in the Prime 1 area or even beyond that (I Hope) .

personally the rock boss in prime 1, and ridley were my favourites

they made the games for me... I agree quadraxis is an exremely great boss
but I felt let down with the emporor ing, and the game just felt a bit... used compared to metroid prime, I just feel they could have added ore, to make it really on par with prime 1

The Dark world was really cool. If anything, the game would have been better in the dark world alone. But I really enjoyed seeing the differences between the two worlds.

Also, pretty much every one of the main boss fights in the first game involved targeting different parts of the bosses body and then laying into them, whereas in Metroid Prime 2, many of the bosses made you use the morph ball in different ways, and one of the boss fights was entirely in morph ball.

I personally like MP2 more than one (so far).  Yea, it's pretty good.

Get RE4 while you're at it for a *finished* game.  Maybe Super Paper Mario also.
