I have never played a Metroid Prime game so I am wondering of what kind of First Person Shooter this game is going to be. Is it a free rome game like the Zelda series or is it where you have to beat levels?

You usually need to be in a pretty small closed in area or a hallway, but you do need to roam around a little and backtrack. I guess kind of like Red Steel.

It's kind of a free roam game. It's like Zelda; there's a lot of backtracking and plenty of things to do to keep you busy. It's a great series and you should definitely play the other Prime games (especially Metroid Prime 1:D)

There are no "levels" whatsoever in Metroid Prime. At the end of the game you can go back to anywhere you've been so far on the planet.

Also, it's not a first person shooter. The controls and gameplay are not really like an FPS. The gameplay is almost somewhere in between Elder Scrolls and Halo. The conrols are not like either.

I just meant that you aren't stuck somewhere where you have to finish a puzzle just to go somewhere else. You can free roam anywhere. But there are missions you need to do, and to do them, you'll need to follow a certain path. But there is a lot of backtracking and moving around whatever level you're on.

I would definately go and play the other Primes, But the whole Metroid series is good.... If you are in to this kind of stuff, sidescrollers, puzzle,action,strategy....All of these are put into Metroid and I think (besides the point you are a kick ass girl in a suit of indestructable armor) This is what makes the series so Successful and awesome. Become a fan...Join the Hunt.

Corruption is ending the Prime trilogy, so...maybe. The first two weren't exaclty plot-heavy, so you haven't missed much.

The Prime games have never had sidequest like Zelda, but in roaming it is similar to Zelda, u can go were ever u want when u want, but to continue the game u must follow the path the game gives u. But u can exit and leave that path whenever u want.

Well it's not backtracking in the sense that you have to ferry items from one side of the world to another in order to get past an obstacle, at least not like in Echos. In Prime, you backtrack to see what new passegeways, missions, or items you can get with whatever item or suit you got last.
