gamespot have allready been critical about the controls, the wii hating just doesn't stop from them
Yeah, Gamespot looks on two factors in games: Dose it have have online play and how does it compare to other games this gen.
If you want a real review go to Matt and Bozon at IGN, GT, or even "Tech TV's"** X-play.
(Note: I still consider it Tech TV because G4 destroyed the station)

maybe if some one smart like greg kasavin was reviewing the game. lolz. they better not hand this one over to jeff, i don't think he likes the wii very much. why would someone who doesn't like the wii review a game for it? they need employees who like the wii. lolKAL_MAN
Question, why do you put "lol" when nothing you said was funny? :?

Why would they rate based on online? Something it doesn't have or focus on?
Also, logically, they'll be judging the game based off games the wii has, the not the other consoles.
and lol @ x play being a real review

Matt is excited about paint drying, I like the guy and all, but he's way too easily impressed. X-Play has never been a credible review source for anyone. I'll give you Gametrailers, they actually give pretty fair reviews. But seriously, the GS hating needs to stop. BioShock scored a 9 and it doesn't have multiplayer (you said Online, an MP3 does have online features, just not multiplayer), and I haven't seen a single title that isn't multiplatform being unfairly compared to another game.
You guys really need to stop being so arrogant and blind towards GameSpot because you're still upset about Twilight Princess getting an 8.8.

Agreed. The fact people still have a grudge makes me lol

mine ain't a grudgethey actually have said that the controls aren't that good already, whereas everyone else has said they are the tightest on a console so far
plus it isn't zelda, they rate a LOT of DS games down compared to everyone else
AND THEN sat and slagged off a lot of old xbox games and gave them great scores, they've not been making very reliable reviews in a LONG time

Give me a link where they say the controls aren't good.
Again, cry some moar. It honestly isnt that big of a deal what GS gives any game.
The Halo series is the only core Xbox series that I feel GS overrated for the original Xbox, and what are you talking about for the DS games? They rated Yoshi's Island 2 higher than almost every other site out there, I really agree with their DS reviews, Gerstmann even gave NSMB a 9, and there are tons of people who feel that it doesn't even deserve that.
I will give you that they've talked about the controls not being as fast, but they never even mentioned the ability to switch through the multiple set ups. Making me believe that they didn't try them.
You people are grasping at straws and making mountains out of molehills. People always say "Oh, if Greg were still around we'd get fair reviews" Greg Kasavin reviewed Halo 2. And Jeff Gerstmann reviewed Wario Ware:Smooth Moves (more generously than other sites did). Thats all you really need to know right there.
The previous Metroid Prime games scored 9.7 and 9.1 respectively. I see no reason why MP3 won't get at least a 9.

read their previewAbove a 7 and below a 9. GS editors are paid for their scores.meetroid8
Do you have any proof of that, like a link providing some damning evidence against GS accepting money to inflate INTERNET VIDEO GAME REVIEWS? Or are you just assuming that and making it up?
metroid while I agree with their overall score they gave it an 8 in graphics because it "occasionally had slight slow down"
for one it's easily the best looking 3d game on the DS, and games such as halo 2 and oblivion have HUGE slowdown all the time and have 10 for graphics (yes I own both)
there were other anomalies that didn't make sense, on other games, but that is the one coming to mind right now
also their new reviewing system sucksbut their old one was WAY worse:
you see the scores? for graphics and the likes, well graphics is worth twice of sound and longevity
also on the zelda thing (this isn't the usual, wah wah wah it deserved 9+)
as one of their bad parts, on the GC side they complained that they would rather have the Wii control, and on the wii side they would rather have the GC control... hmmm
on godfather black hand edition they said that there was NO added content such as missions, when there most definitly is, and then complained about the controls being far to loose, when they aren't loose at all (they work almost perfectly, with the slight exception of the horn sometimes being hard to use on the cars)
those are 3 examples

I didn't understand that one either... of course it should be compared to other games this gen, and according the IGN it pawns a lot of games this gen
since the guy reviewing bioshock (bozon maybe?)was actually spending a lot of time playing this according to the podcast

Yeah, that TP review doesn't have anything to do with the reviews being done at seperate times or anything like that.
Jeff says that in the GCN review, he ends up prefering the Wii version's controls due to the ease of aiming and quicker access to the spin attack. He's not aloud to change his mind? The Wii version of TP arrived on the launch of the Wii, and the GCN came out in December, seeing as I've never seen GS go back and completely re-do a rating, it doesn't shock me that its presented the way it is. It does shock me that people can't put two and two together and understand why its like that.
As far as Godfather goes, I just read the review, and they do talk about new content for the Wii and PS3 versions, and they also mention that it only feels loose if you fail to use exagerrated gestures.
You're grasping at straws here.

Um its their job to reveiw the games they do get paid for it. How else would they make a living.Ugh, either you're really clever or I just read too much into your comment. I've heard loads of crap about outside companies paying off websites for positive reviews, particularly in Microsoft's case. Why people would assume that a company would pay money so that a few sites on the internet say that their game is the best is beyond me.
Yes, these people get paid to do their job, which is to report and review on video games, but honestly, you should have said that instead of typing a phrase that insinuates that there's some shady dealings going on.
Both zeldas were reviewed about the same time it wasn't weeks apart and the Wii was out in December.meetroid8
No, the Wii launched Sunday November 19th 2006 in NA along side Zelda (I know, I picked both my Wii and my copy of Zelda up on November 19th. The GCN version came out on December 11th 2006 in NA.
There is almost a month between the titles, so yeah, the reviews were spaced out by that much time.

Nope, you can check it out yourself here on the site, if you look under the updates for the GCN version, it says the review was posted December 14th. 3 days after it was shipped. And again, nearly a full month after the Wii version was reviewed on November 17th.
