I got this game because I loved Prime. But, um, will someone tell Retro studios that fighting the same bosses that take 5 million shots over and over again does not amount to very much fun? I'm all for challenge in my games, but it's just tedious. And half the time, the lock on doesn't even work, which is crucial in boss fights. Why did no reviews make mention of this? Blah! My hand is cramping, my forearms sore, and the boss fights are overly long, too frequent, and just plain annoying. Hello trade-in.

I found the game to be great and engaging, and was probably one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I've ever had. It sounds like the game might be a bit too hard for you. Which is weird becasue I thought Prime was more difficult than Corruption.

I agree, the bosses, while easier than the first two, felt like you were shooting cold water at a giant ice cube.... it just didn't feel like anything was happening.

And yes... that damn lock-on bug, i had to re-lock every minute.

Okay, I've calmed down a bit now. I'm still frustrated by the boss fights, and the duration of the battles, as well as the lack of a rapid fire option. I sometimes feel like I'm playing a shooter from the NES days with the repeated requirement for button presses. Problem is, my hands are 20 years older now. ;) Prime is one of my favorite games of all time, mind you. But none of the boss battles gave me hand cramps, or the feeling of cheapness. I sort of feel like they took out the emphasis of exploration, and just made it a nerve-grinding shooter. I'm still early in the game, so I'll reserve final judgement for later.

But no, the game is not "too hard" for me. I recently beat Call Of Duty 4 on Veteran, and have beaten Ninja Gaiden on Hard more times than I can count. I love challenges. Cheapness bothers me.

And that whole lock-on issue... YIKES that's bad.

It's not a lock on bug.... it's made on purpose, to make it more challenging, like part of the boss strategy. You people haven't realised they are doing the same move while locking out?:| It's not a bug.

We get dozens of the Wii has no challenging game threads every day lol so at least this one is different. I think if you trade it in you should be banned from ever complaining about Nintendo games being aimed at a younger audience and too easy however, the game controls amazingly but you have to stick with it. You think its bad now you need to try hyper mode bosses :?.

I'm pretty sure losing the lock-on of a stationary, motionless enemy should not occur

You guys don't seem to realize he's not talking about it being hard. A boss could require you to hit it 200 times and still not be hard because it pretty much just can't kill you. I kind of noticed the same thing with the metroid bosses early on in the game (I didn't play the game long). It was sort of like shooting a triple reinforced titanium pinata without a blindfold on. It can't really fight back, but you're going to have to shoot it a lot. It may change as the game goes on though.

Ever tried entering hypermode?

That kinda turns a 10 min boss fight into a one min slaughter

What lock on issue? Only time I would lose lock on is when the boss would do a certain move. Maybe you should use the scan visor at different times.

K. First off there's no problem with the lock on or alock on "bug". There are many enemies, inlcluding the jet pack troopers, and many bosses that can break the lock on. Prime had some, Echoes had more and Corruption has even more. It up the challenge.

Secondly Trade-in = you don't deserve oxygen :D

Lastly I have no idea what you're talking about in referene to the same bosses over and over again? What boss do you fight more than once? (p.s. the answer is zero so I really think you should rethink your complaint)

Just my two cents.

Dude it totally does get better. If you still have it I recommend you try and finish it. As a gamer it's silly not to.

Some of the minibosses you fight multiple times. Of course you can sometimes order your ship to do a bombing run on them.

i absolutely loved the bosses in Metroid Prime 3. I agree, they were difficult and often took me 20 and 30 minutes to beat sometimes... but totally worth it. I think Retro is really creative when it comes to bosses. Yes, my hands also got tired but man it felt good once I killed them.

That Ridley fight was *amazing* The graphics were awesome and I was so in to fighting that boss.

I rented it. I really liked the controls, but I just couldn't get into the game. I'm not a big fan of sci-fi so it's really rare that I enjoy that type of game since I'm turned off by the setting.

I almost never complain about games being too easy - as long as I have fun, I'm satisfied. But I also don't complain about games being hard - if you read the other post in this thread, I talk about how I love challenging games. I just got annoyed at how many shots the enemies take, rather than requiring a puzzle element, or some sort of gameplay finesse to beat (Prime 1). I haven't played Prime 2, so perhaps the bosses got cheap and annoying there, and I just missed the boat.

 Exactly. More of a forearm strength excersize than a boss-fight. j/k ;)

I'm not trying to argue the merits of the challenge. I just don't like how this game presents it sometimes (I admit, I am early in the game). With the frequent boss battles that take 30 minutes of constant shooting to kill.

Ok, being early in the game is the first problem, give it some time to expand a little. yes the bosses all take LOTS of hits, but later bosses are a little tougher. And they tend to get a better sense of being defeated. No point in having a boss that you shoot twice and he's dead right?

I started the game on Veteran and the bosses were actually pretty hard for me. I died at least 3 times fighting the first real boss on Bryo (i won't say his name for risk of spoilers) and i died at least once on every boss after. And the thing is i still loved it. And lock on isn't supposed to literally "lock on" it just keeps your focus on that one person but you still have to aim which is easy imo. And if you ask me, rapid fire would make the game to easy plus samus' gun is supposed to be like a pistol not really a machine gun...

I found most of the bosses to be well-designed,creative,and deliver the right amount of challenge so they weren't too easy, but not too hard. There were a handful of bosses, however, that were easy, like the final boss battle(s),and Rundas, once you get the strategy down.

I am going to give the game another chance, and a little more time. I like the puzzles and the overall feel of the game, on the plus side.
