Metroid Prime Trilogy discontinued

Metroid Prime trilogy for the wii is now being 'No longer shipped' by nintendo.

In my opinion this is a stupid movie, the game has been out for four months, and you stop shipping the game? That is the worst buisness move ive ever heard, so if you wanted to pick this game up, but have never got around to it, better do so now while you can.

Metroid prime trilogy is the offical compilation of Metroid Prime and Metroid prime 2: Echoes for the GC, remastered for the WII with motion controls, and contains Metroid prime 3.

I have no idea why they stopped shipping it so soon, but if you havent played these yet, your missing out!

Nintendo have unrealistic expectations regarding their game sales. They consider games that don't sell 10 million a failure most of the time :(

And yeah they do. I have MP1 and 2 on gamecube, but for those that dont, the compilation is perfect for them! They are hardly giving thier third party games a chance.

Do people not understand what a "collector's edition" is? Trilogy was supposed to be special limited run for the most hardcore of Metroid fans. If you really want it, start hunting.

It's a shame, but this is true. I myself would love the compilation, but it isn't top of my priority list. If I miss out, I miss out, I won't be too upset. Though maybe I'll find it used in a backwater games shop for $19.99 like I did the Zelda compilation. Best find ever.

I don't think that has anything to do with sales. I'm almost 100% sure that the Primes were always intended to be a trilogy, with a start, middle, and finish. A trilogy makes for excellent pacing, any more runs the risk of dragging it out, which I would rather not happen to such a beloved franchise.

Glad I picked up my copy during Black Friday. Even happier I haven't even opened it yet.

What was the point in adding pointer controls to Metroid Prime 1 & 2, and packaging them all together...just to discontinue it?

I've heard people compare it to the Zelda Collection on the Gamecube...but with that, it was not sold separately, and if I recall I got mine from pre-ordering Windwaker.

If Nintendo wants to stop making money from their investment, I guess that's up to them.

I got this the day after Christmas it was $50 dollars. It makes sense maybe they would release it again later just not in the metal packaging and having an art book that was a collectors edition which is nice when Nintendo mentions it would be limited edition they weren't kidding since you can still find Limited Editions of other games in some stores.

might pick up a copy and keep it sealed then. i already own the GC versions and dont really want to play through them again. :P

I don't think it was a stupid move to Nintendo to discontinue the trilogy collection like that. In fact, it was probably a smart move, considering so many suckers will rush out to get it before they get too hard to find. I am one of those suckers who managed to find a used copy in the original metal box and with its instruction and art booklets.

It's actually a smart move, because the demand will suddenly increase if supply stops. Nintendo's business move here was not stupid, it just p*$$es alot of their customers off.

Well as long as this 4 month old thread is bumped I might as well say that thanks to my Grandma (the same Grandma that gave me Monkey Mischief Garbage Time) redeemed herself by getting me this awesome Collection! :D
