As I have said in the past, I really don't think that one single trailer is enough information to tell us much of anything about what the game will really be like.
all i know from the trailer is that it wont have the atmosphere of metroid prime. hopefully it will be great in other areas to make up for that, but theres not much specific information in the trailer to say.
It looks more action packed and mainstream, personally I like that better, Prime games were good but bored me at times. The graphics and the switch between first and third person look cool.
I think that Metroid: Other M will probably be better than the Metroid Prime series, even though I haven't seen much footage. I just hope they are able to keep the awesome atmosphere intact.
just don't know... but i can tell you that I am really hoping blows the doors off the rest. Nintendo has their hands in the mixing pot so I'm sure it will not be bad. I will buy it on release.
Now if they would just release it with a Wii HD!!!! :D (please don't get your panties in a wad cause I mentioned mydesperate hope for anew Wii)
we know it's metroid. that's it. but nintendo managed to come up with a pretty "hypeable" trailer, and presented it in a way nobody was expecting, causing it to become one of the most hyped wii titles right now :P
We don't know much about the game yet, but I don't think it will be better than the first Metroid Prime. Sure, it'll most likely be better than Echoes and maybe Corruption, but the first one -- no way.

yeah man. Don't judge a game based on a single trailer, especially if a new team is developing it.
I don't go by the trailer, but by what i know about it. I'd say it'll be just as much fun for me personally, aaaaand better received by the public, yeeeeet it'll get lower scores.

This game is made by the same team that made Super Metroid, so I don't see why you think that the atmosphere will suffer.

so suddenly your opinion is law? were you crowned as video game overlord? there is going to be an increase in cinematics. there will be more voicework than the cold computer voices of metroid prime. both go against the atmosphere that mp created, which is why know it wont have a similar atmosphere.
For the love of god make another 2d Metroid!!!!!!!!!!! Update it to todays standards like Shadow Complex, and it will be the best game ever made. EVER.
