Mew Wi-Fi Event for HeartGold/SoulSilver -- Event Over!

Here are the details courtesy of the official Pokemon US website:

It's been 10 years since Pokemon fans first visited the Johto region in Pokemon Gold Version and Pokemon Silver version. To commemorate the historic occasiona, you can get the rare Psychic-type Pokemon Mew! You'll be able to get Mew into your copy of Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver version games via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection distribution event from October 15th through October 30th.

At first, it was believed that there were only 150 Pokemon. As #151 in the National Pokedex, Mew was the original secret Pokemon. Since then, Mew has very rarely been available over the past 10 years. This is an opportunity that doesn't come around too often, so don't miss out!

The Mew you'll receive is interesting in a number of ways. It's only level 5, and it only comes with one move, Pound, a basic Normal-type attack. In other words, Mew is a blank slate - you can raise it and train it as you see fit. Also, it comes inside a Cherish Ball and has a Premier Ribbon, both of which indicate that you got Mew via a special event!

ELIGIBILITY:

- You'll be able to receive Mew via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection from October 15th to October 30th.

- You must have a Nintendo DS system and your own copy of Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver version.

- You need to have acquired the Pokedex.

- You need to have fewer than three Wonder Cards in your possession.

Maybe they'll give us another Mew event for D/P/Pt like the did in Japan. :P

...or maybe not and just skip to CELEBI! :D

But I do hope that Mew will also be given out for D/P/Pt. I'm willing to restart my Diamond over and over just to get 30 mews. :lol:

Just got Mew (almost forgot :P) and it's Modest. ;D
I'm going to train it as soon as I finish training Mamoswine, Weavile, and Espeon. :)

Yes, at least in the States and Europe(as far as I know it has NEVER been available through an event there). Celebi has only been made available in the US through an Event once(2006).

That Celebi was only for the Japanese copies of HG/SS. The worldwide Celebi event will occur when they finally air the Zoroark movie here.

*phew* Finally got mine just in time. I'm at Uni away from my DS, so I had to walk my Mum through disabling our Wi-Fi protection, getting Mew and putting the WPA back up over the phone.
