wow, that heading makes me feel like a car salesman or something. Anyway, the reason mii's are so minimalistic/simple is because ninty wanted their file to fit on the wii remote. This has been known for quite some time. But that doesn't mean they can't offer new features for Miis, as long as they don't change the amount of data the Mii stores. I mean let's take a simple thing like more colors for instance, they could offer dozens of new colors for your Mii's shirt and they'd still only have to store a simple hexadecimal code like they always have.

This is barely on topic. but I just feel the need to complain about how sorta-lame the whole Mii thing is. The Mii's look like crap, no matter how much effort you put into making them. And there isn't even close to enough options to truely customise them. I'm pretty disappointed in the Mii thing.
Just because they are small and everything doesn't mean it just automatically fits on the remote. I would guess the character is just raw data. I mean, I don't really know how this stuff works, but I would think they would have a code to tell what facial expressions and hair, but not the actual hair, you know what I mean.
I just don't see how they would do it just to fit into the remote... I don't think that's why. They did it so it's really easy to create one and anyone can do it.
