it was posted before somewhere but thx fo bringing up again :D but i still dont know how that will work if the sword is actually that girlfunsohngI'm guessing there will be levels in the game where you use the sword, and others where you play co-op with that girl to solve puzzles.
Eh... It might need to be implemented differently, but essentials look about right.SMR-VenomYeah obviously the animations are not nearly slick enough for a Zelda game and more in line with Wii Sports, but I can see the sword, archery and boomerang being pretty awesome in the new zelda.
but i still dont know how that will work if the sword is actually that girlfunsohngFirst of all that is just speculation...and it sounds pretty lame to me lol
Because now they can release this peripheral 3 years later and make more money off of it. It's just another thing to give Nintendo an edge, really. Technology's been there from the start, and they can say it was to lower costs as much as they want, but I also heard that the remotes are manufactured much cheaper than what they cost, or aren't really worth as much or something. So this could have been in the remotes from the beginning, and yeah they probably would have cost more, but I think the system would have been overall better from the beginning, and instead of being an attachment we might have wii motion plus be part of the remote and not wiggle around. Why wasn't the Wii able to do this from the start? :(

I imagine the girl being the sword will probobly not affect gameplay that much and will more then likely serve more of a purpose in the story. It will probobly be like kingdom hearts where Sora dosen't get the keyblade out until you press the button then it magically appears.

Where is everyone getting this from, that the girl is the sword? This is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard before, lol.Don't you think it's a pretty big assumption to draw from just that though? LolWell if you look at the concept art that Miyamoto has given us the girl's head is pointy (like a sword) and the jewel on her chest is eerily similer to the one on the hilt of the master sword.

You probably won't have to make giant, wailing movements, you can probably perform the same action by slightly moving the remote like that in a small space.God I hope this aint true I like sitting on my arse pushing buttons not flailing my arms around like a r tard. I guess nintendo likes to throw traditional gameing right out the window but I bet the kiddies will like it. If this is the dirrection gaming is going looks like my days are numbered.

Yeah, this is just what everyone came up with in that giant picture thread on the art. I will laugh if everyone is totally off and the girl has nothing to do with a sword.
it was posted before somewhere but thx fo bringing up again :D but i still dont know how that will work if the sword is actually that girlfunsohngI think that the reason that link didn't have a sword in that picture was to hint at the girl being "the spirit of the master sword" or whatever. This could very well be more of a story element than an actual gameplay element. I'm sure there's other ways of looking at this, but it makes sense to me. also perhaps your sword can turn into that girl, who you could have stand on a switch, or use some unknown special ability - this would leave link temporarily defenseless however.
The girl kinda looks like Midna, maybe she is a member of her and Zant's race? Like some princess or something that got turned to stone.
And this being the first Zelda to use Wii Motion Plus and be built for the Wii, I am sure there will be swordplay in this game. But, maybe Link now has a Beam Sword or something. XD
Here's something people don't seem to understand--the girl in the picture is the physical manifestation of the Master Sword. That doesn't mean that you'll be swinging around a girl like a sword! That doesn't make sense.Think about it. Link usually has a Kokori sword before he gets his master sword.
Anyway, it seems like it works really well here, and Zelda will only improve upon it, with more dramatic animations, and probably a different camera angle. I think an over-the-shoulder cam would work well when you target an enemy. The thing they would need to do is make everything flow well. In the heat of a battle, you wouldn't want the boomerang to fly off somewhere you didn't want it to, or something like that.
Oh, and I loved the Spirit Tracks music in the background of that video. It only made it more exciting!
If the girl really IS the MS, then maybe she will just transform into the sword when you go into battle. Outside of battle she is like a normal person who travels around with you, but when you get attacked, she transforms.
I don't know, we don't even know for sure that she IS the MS.

That the same thing i thought when i heard about him turning into a wolf... Everyone is getting it from a picture that nintendo put out of link holding his shield in one hand an nothing in the other with a girl behind him with a sword shaped hair cut she also has a gem on her chest similar to the one on the master sword. Which for now i think is enough to assume she is the sword...Eh... It might need to be implemented differently, but essentials look about right.SMR-Venom
I want your sig instead of this one.

Where is everyone getting this from, that the girl is the sword? This is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard before, lol. I think gameplay wise it makes perfect sense. When its time to fight she turns back into the sword, otherwise she can come out into fairy sword thing form. simple solution[QUOTE="striking_"][QUOTE="funsohng"] but i still dont know how that will work if the sword is actually that girlOvirew

[QUOTE="snowman6251"]The thing I heard about the M+ with the sword fighting or any other game really is that it loses calibration incredibly quickly, like 10-15 seconds quickly. If thats true I do not want to be putting my wiimote face down on a flat surface every 10 seconds, thats a major break in the flow of the game. I hope thats not actually truenintendoman562I doubt that's true. Nintendo wouldn't make such a stupid mistake like that and then claim Zelda, one of their top franchises, will use a similar system. If people experienced this at E3 then it will be fixed by launch. If you heard it at IGN, then IGNore it because Matt doesn't know what he is talking about 99% of the time.
Actually, it is true. 10-15 seconds of heavy motion will un-calibrate the M+ device. But, there's ways developers can get around that. Take Grand Slam Tennis for example. So long as you go back to center between swings, the wiimote recalibrates itself every time in-game. It takes less than a second. Tigerwoods does it when you point down before you swing. Zelda could do the same.
I'm still a little iffy when it comes to using motion control with the master sword...I think that the Master Sword should just be a button and all the other items can have motion!
Eh... It might need to be implemented differently, but essentials look about right.SMR-Venom
