Well I have two reasons. The first of which is that there are currently 2 Call of Duty games on the DS. This means they have an game engine in place and can punch out a game quite quickly, compared to the 3DS, in which they'll have to make revisions to the Wii engine. Secondly, Activision aren't really risk takers and will probably find a larger audience on the DS as there are nearly 150 million of them out there. Chances are we will see a 3DS version of the game next year and it will likely support the Slide Pad Pro.Raiko101There are currently 4 Call of Duty games out for NDS. I think it's more likely that Activision are waiting for n-Space(the developer of all the Call of Duty DS games) to get experience with the 3DS(which they're getting with Heroes of Ruin and Rollercoaster Tycoon) before they put CoD on the new platform. CoD is hands down the best shooter on DS, so they've got a reputation to maintain. The unfortunate part of that, though, is that the first CoD game for 3DS likely won't be from the MW line.
I read an article a while back about them preferring the DS over the 3DS because apparently more people had that console since 3DS wasn't doing too well. Don't know how true that is. I feel they're missing out on making a good 3DS game.
I'll be buying the next CoD on my DS Lite... I am sorry it's not coming out specifically for your new hardware out there, but with the sales figures being what they are for the 3DS, I'm not surprised that they're covering the larger install base of DS users and not bothering with development of 3D for what amounts to a niche crowd of users.
N-Space has done a great job with the last FOUR CoDs (CoD4, WaW, Mobilized, BLOPs) as well as an entertaining Bond FPS with "GoldenEye"...
This would be a great asset to the DS library! Now that I think about it, how come there's no CoD for PSP ? Is it because they're not two thumbsticks?
I'm glad it's not. CoD is a plague and fortunately the 3DS appears to be immune to it, let's hope it stays that way.spike6958
They are good games. You don't like them and we get that. I think you're the same person I saw say the same thing in a Wii U thread.
COD could be cool on the 3DS, and while I'm not waiting around for one, if done right and as a separate entity like the DS versions it could deliver an experience as good as the Wii versions on a handheld.
Plus, honestly everything looks cool in 3D on the 3DS IMO and I'm dieing to see a FPS on it. Darn you Renegade Kid taking so long with your 3DS game!
As said it's most likely a combination of there being more DS units then 3DS units at the time the game was being made. Also they'd want n-Space to get more experience with the 3DS hardware first. Engine wise they already have the Wii engine they can alter so that isn't the issue. So next year I fully expect there to be a 3DS version of Treyarch's next Call of Duty game. At the same time I the next CoD game to be a Wii U launch title as well. The Wii U will be launching around that time and November is when Activision likes to have Call of Duty come out. NeoStar9
Yea, I'd expect Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for Wii U, and Call of Duty Black Ops 2: Side Story Mission (or something that sounds better lol) for the 3DS.
The idea of being able to call in airstrikes on the fly using an always active game map on the Wii U tablet will make me choose the Wii U version over any other version, so hopefully the 3DS version will be different enough to justify two COD purchases.
I wonder if they should simply port over the iPhone Nazi Zombies, add in Black Ops maps and Dead Ops Arcade, add a few new thrills and ship that for 3DS

yeah probably...This would be a great asset to the DS library! Now that I think about it, how come there's no CoD for PSP ? Is it because they're not two thumbsticks?

Actually psp got (Call of Duty) Roads to Victory, though I haven't tried a cod yet. When mw3 comes out on vita I'm getting it. I'm sure 3ds will get one too.p4s2p0
And it's pretty hostile in the control department. Best to skip that one... Spotty little game. MoH was the only franchise to try on that platform, and then only weakly, and twice...
:?
... I've enjoyed n-Space's games on the DS a lot more than FPS on the other hand-held system. The stylus control makes it work on the DS better than the genre works on other systems. I really want a DS XL for FPS play on the DS...
:P
... sometimes the screen can be a bit cramped trying to pick something up or to site the weapon and back to open view again... Still, small complaints. I like CoD on the DS (obviously).
thats true.the 3ds will have to get more sales before activision could even release a 3ds cod game.hope the 3ds gets a lot of sales then
