Eh, not too big of a deal, may get back into it and play around with the online some more before it goes defunct.
So does this affect the Wiiu edition in any form? FightingfanNo, different(stretching the definition of different) games.

From what I've been told (literally just found out about this as well), it's Monster Hunter Tri with more weapon types, more monsters, etc. It's more than a GOTY pack, but less than a new game. Seeing as I didn't even manage to get all the stuff or fight everything in Tri, a new game + doesn't sound appealing :P
So was the online community dead or are they shutting down to make everyone buy the Wii U version?roboccs
They decreased the number of serves to maintain density, but there has always been a good number of people on.
We've gone through so much; from getting our asses kicked by the Great Jaggi to successfully slaying the Alatreon. Every minute was epic. Our goal is to slay monsters, no matter what terrain they're on. Even after the 7th defeat, we never gave up. We mined, we gathered, and we crafted various unique weapons and learned how to use them. We compared each other's armor sets and took each other's advises. We often sought help from other hunters; either veterans or newcomers. The journey was grand and it's almost to its end.
When the time comes, I shall say farewell to my file and all the fellow hunters I've met in the past 3 years. Hopefully we'll meet again in a new ultimate adventure.
I have just recently bought this game. This means I won't be able to play it or just I will have to play it solo?
You will have to play it solo. There are a lot of online multiplayer exclusives like High Rank weapons, armors, and more quests. The game is very limited without online.I have just recently bought this game. This means I won't be able to play it or just I will have to play it solo?

I sold my copy because of that shutdown. The games is not limited offline at all. You can still do A LOT of quests, plus, you have the free hunting mode, unlike the online part. I really think the game is worthy offline but I also recognize how better it becomes with online.[QUOTE="GustGamespot"]
