Ultimate was my favorite in the arcade...though I think it was because I liked Human Smoke more than any other character. Otherwise it was just a MK3 upgrade. If it's done proper, this should be a good one.

Ed Boon: Ultimate Mortal Kombat for the Nintendo DS combines the arcade version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Puzzle Kombat which first appeared on Mortal Kombat Deception. Both games are included on this version and they both can be played solo, locally against a friend (on another DS) or online over the internet. We're really excited to have both of these games in one!

I'll be buying this game for sure!!

More stages and characters would be nice, I really doubt extra characters though since Armageddon was supposed to be the finallized Mortal Kombat of every prior game made in the series.

I don't see what the problem is here. MK3 was a fine fighter and for a handheld that has no sign of Smash Bros coming to it (get over it fellas), and the only decent fighters as imports, something like this will fill that void alot of people have been missing. Did we forget about the fatalities and stage deaths? Oh sure now they seem downright laughable, but hey people wanted more mature games now they'll get them.

MK3 having online support in the form of actually playing against other people is rather impressive and exactly what people want in a fighting game. Not enough games are making use of online functionality anyway, so while I'm in no way much of a MK fan, I think we should be keeping our eyes on this one...unless you guys wanna keep making "WheRe is teh SmASh bRos atzors?" threads.

I've always wanted a good fighting game for the DS so this may be it

Hopefully they do it right with the online play

One word:

FATALITY!!!

Finally, the DS is getting a good (non-import) fighting game WITH online play!

And Puzzle Kombat is great (though an obvious rip-off of Puzzle Fighter).

In my opinion, UMK3 was the last great Mortal Kombat. I'm just hoping that they add enough modes to make it really worthwhile.
