Despite the thoughts of the person who posted that on the website in the link, I am sure this is all movie. I smell a potential game to tie-in to the movie. However, this looks sweet. Johnny Cage is a loser, glad what had to get done got done.
"Get over here!"
made me smile like a school girl!
As per wikipedia:
"A third film is currently in the development stage with a tentative release date of 2010.After having read the script, Ed Boon has stated that the upcoming movie will be more of areboot than a third sequel, as had been previously believed. A possible trailer has appeared on the internet showcasing Michael JaiWhiteas Jax,JeriRyanas Sonya Blade, Matt Mullins as Johnny Cage, Ian Anthony Dale as Scorpion, andLateef Crowderas Baraka. Kevin Tanchareon directed the short and Larnell Stovall choreographed the fight scenes. Jeri Ryan revealed that the short was made for the director to pitch the reboot to Warner Brothers"
Looks like it's gonna be a feature film afterall :D
Well they seriously took Mortal Kombat and ran with a completely new direction. Honestly, I don't like it. And the trailer seemed like a promo to a HBO series. It probably will be a movie, but certaintly not a movie quality movie.
I actually am interested in this new movie. The only bad about it is that Baraka is a Black Man with Dreads? What? That guy would've fit MUCH better as Kabal. Other than that, it looks interesting. The story needed a new turn because after Deadly Alliance, MK went ALL the way down hill, into the valley, down the drain pipe and into the sewage system. I wouldn't mind a realistic fighter as long as the game uses the engine from Trilogy instead of this new crap. The new engine is what killed the MK Franchise. The graphics look great but the fighting is terrible. Tekken is NEVER supposed to be able to stick with MK but with MK's new fighting engine, tekken would wipe the floor with them and that's sad. This is good that MK is still going but I hope Ed Boon also gets into his mind that the new fighting engine is TERRIBLE and reverts to the old style maybe even with a few twists. That would be a Great MK.
