List any and all that you would consider to fit this criteria (and if the game is any good).
They can be currently released or forthcoming.

GTA: Chinatown Wars, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, Dementium, Dementium 2, Crime Scene, C.O.R.E., theresia, Ultimate Mortal Kombat, Touch the Dead, and Resident Evil: Deadly Silence.
Just go to the ESRB website, there were only 10 games that were rated Mature for the DS and those are the 10 games.
AO-rated? Absolutely none. Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft all have a strict policy against licensing games with this ESRB rating on their systems.
As for M-rated games... well just off the top of my head there is Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (an enhanced port of the first RE), Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Touch the Dead, and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey.
no, I meant adult-oriented as in a mature/interesting story that would appeal to an 'older' gamer...

Thanks.
Wonder if there are any such games on the release schedule for the coming months?
I don't think there are many games that are mature. Since 99% of the time you kill/destroy something and there's always a character that acts like a frat bro or the character appeals to frat boys and people who live on the Jersey shore. Probably the most mature is Heavy Rain. I can't think of one on the DS.

Well the ESRB doesn't determine what age group a particular game would actually appeal to. They're just rating the visual content and language.
I know what you mean about STORYLINEs. A lot of the "mature" games have - kill troll, win girl - or kill kill kill blood blood splatter splatter, car crash, car crash......... :(
But a few games actually do have long and interesting storylines. The ones I recommend are the Lost in Blue series (1-3), Sims: Urbz Sims in the City, possibly the new Sims 3 for DS (coming in October), Hotel Dusk, The Phoenix Wright series. These games have decent stories along with good game play. The Professor Layton series, I'm told, are also good.
They ARE out there. You just have to read all the reviews in order to find them. I tend to prefer good gameplay with an interesting story to go along with it. I just finished "A Witch's Tale", which had a really good background story that you learned in pieces throughout the game.
By the way, I'm in my 60s (can't get more "mature" than that!).
I would second Hotel Dusk & Ace attorney, just look past the aesthetics. There is a good story on hand here and although the writing in Ace Attorney can be somewhat off, Heavy Rain didnt do well in the writing category either.I know what you mean about STORYLINEs. Depends on your definition of Mature..if you mean by difficulty and story..then the Zelda games are awesome, so are the Dragon Quest games (tons of gameplay!). If you mean content..you're shopping on the wrong handheld.
Not necessarily. (I do agree with you about the Zelda games. Loved Phantom, haven't played Spirit Tracks yet.) There are good games with good storylines out there. It's true a great many of the games are more game than story, and most gamers prefer game over story. Still, those of us who want a good storyline manage to find our share of good games.
That's outside of Japan, dear. I could name about 3 AO games on DS off the top of my head.AO-rated? Absolutely none. Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft all have a strict policy against licensing games with this ESRB rating on their systems.

I just looked up the Japanese rating system, CERO, and interestedly many of the games that are "Z" rated (18+ only) only carry a "M" rating here in the states.

I guess you don't know how to look up games like yaoi dating sims or those rape simulators that are uber popular in Japan. Like I said, they're on the DS, and did not come over to America, obviously, for various reasons. So you aren't going to find them unless you like, look for them? Which I wouldn't suggest doing. But they are on the DS. IDK if that means Nintendo passed them though? I just like to argue with my less then useful information, sorry.I guess you don't know how to look up games like yaoi dating sims or those rape simulators that are uber popular in Japan. Oh I know full well about those. I'm just saying that you can't make a direct comparison between ratings.
There is also the fact that in the western world video games are still largely viewed as a children's toys. I mean you can have partial nudity and brief sex scenes in an R rated movie, but every time some developer tries it in a video game it causes a huge controversy.
Pokemon
Tokeism
When you get into it, there are very few games that have gameplay withas much depth as Pokemon. Of course we're all insane to consider a franchice that centers around cock fighting kid-friendly just because the characters spout BS about friendship.
Maybe a little depth..but they're all the SAME GAMES, just different critters. If they really wanted to make an awesome [new] pokemon game they would put ALL (literally all) pokemon, and have it span across a few continents (as opposed to one, linear-path location), or even make it open-world-ish, more so than it is. I've been playing them since the first games came out, and they're just boring now..nothing new and exciting about the games.millerjs1986This is kinda off topic but if you can say that the new peokemon games got nothing new and exciting about them,my only guess is that you haven't been playing them at all
Not adult oriented, or M-Rated. So this is basically a no-go.Pokemon
Tokeism
So what is new and exciting about them? You can't make comments like that, not elaborate. I mean..I didn't play Heart Gold or SS (as they didn't really change much, and you shouldn't fix what isn't broken), but please..enlighten me.millerjs1986You did stated that you been playing the first set of games which is red/blue/yellow from when they came out but when you said that the games today got nothing new and exciting, that was just false.I mean you got so many new features in these games ever since Red/blue came out like wifi battles, contest, changes of battle mechanics just to name a few and even the upcoming games(black/white)would even bring new changes to the series from the info we got
Yeah, you still fail to mention anything that makes the games new and exciting. I have played at least one game from each generation. they are just the same game with tiny little upgrades- fighting with 2 pokemon, playing over wifi in a dungeon (pointless),...um I mean the graphics have gotten better, but that is a result of better tech. These games just lack innovation. they could take the franchise to a new level if they just made something new, but instead all of their games are too damn similar. fight 8 gym leaders, and then fight in a championship. Too similar.millerjs1986
I don't understand.
What do you mean about fighting with 2 pokemon?
"Playing over wifi in a dungeon (pointless)" ??? :?
Every generation of pokemon is something new.
The 2nd Generation gave us 100 new pokemon.
The 3rd Generation gave us Double battles, which improved gameplay. Plus 135 new pokemon.
The 4th Generation gave us online gameplay. Made it possible to trade around the world, battle with our friends without cables. This also improved gameplay. Plus 107 new pokemon.
The 5th Generation will give us Triple battles, animated sprites, improved Wi-Fi/Wireless features, a different camera angle, weather status indicator, the ability to connect your save file to your computer, and 22 new pokemon has been revealed.
These "tiny little upgrades" changed the way of playing the franchise. You would always expect atleast 8 gyms, 4 Elites and a Champion, but the region would be completely different.
The only flaw in the games is the story pattern. It makes the games seem similar, but everything else is different.
On Topic: I recommend GTA: Chinatown Wars. I've seen many positive reviews for the game. :)
I've heard the Dementium games were good too.
