Nintendo is sending new, stronger wrist straps to everybody who purchased the wii systems and wii remotes before the new straps were made. I think it is amazing that Nintendo really cares about their customers, enough so to send tons of wrist straps to thousands of people for free.

It is possible Nintendo wants to keep a friendly, supportive image to make more money as well, but either way it's awesome, yes.

If your Wii was bought mid-December or later, you need not worry. You got the good straps. At least version 2 of the straps, which are fine.

I wonder if they are replacing the replacements though. Dont care really, I dont see myself being clumsy enough to let go of damn Wiimote when playing.

I doubt any legal action taken in regards to the wrist straps will actually get anywhere.    The warnings are there, the instructions tell you how to use the wiimote properly, and if one plays as is recomended, then its a non-issue, if they dont, then its the consumers fault for ignoring clearly marked warnings.

oh, and I still cant figure out why the original straps needed to be replaced (theyre more than strong enough if you ask me)  let alone why the beefed up replacements would need to be replaced.

surprisingly, nintendo is much more helpful than most other companies when it comes to customer service.   their people know what they are doing, and they dont screw you around when youre trying to get something replaced.

Example, tried to get my creative mp3 player fixed, while under full warranty.  It took me 3 weeks of emails until I said, "what the hell, my players been busted  for 3 weeks and you guys are giving me the run around."  (cept the letter was much more vulgar"  they responded with "alright sir, we will see what we can do."

I call nintendo with a couple of concerns about my wii, and they offer to send me a prepaid purolator package and replace the components, right off the bat.  No run arounds, just, youre worried, we will alleviate those fears.

like I said...way better than most companies.

LAST February.

YaoMing, I wonder why you didn't get the message! Isn't that strange, that a year old message wasn't sent to you in the future.

I know you're new, so I'll just let you know that bumping old threads is against the rules here. Please stop doing it. Please always note the date of the last response in the thread -- if it's more than a few weeks old, don't reply to it.
