Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Skyward Sword
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Wii Sports Resort (if you have friends to play it with)
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Metroid Prime 3 / Metroid Prime Trilogy (if you could find it)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Mario Kart Wii
Wii Sports Resort
Definitely SMG2 and DKCR! Amazing games. Punch-Out and Super Paper Mario are fun and only $20 now. Trauma Center: Second Opinion and :New Blood were cool and unique. Zelda: SS and GoldenEye, too, are good.
1. Skyward Sword
2. Super Mario Galaxy 2
3. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
4. Metroid Prime: Triology
5. Donkey Kong Country Returns
6. Wii Sports Resort
These games are the best in their classes IMO. You want them badly.
1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
2. New Super Mario Bros. Wii
3. Super Mario Galaxy 2
4. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
5. Super Mario Galaxy
6. Donkey Kong Country Returns
I recommended you six Xbox 360 exclusives on your thread.
The six Wii games you should play are:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Okami
Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2 or both
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
No More Heroes (but not the sequel, it sucks)
Klonoa
Be sure to note the similarities between Twilight Princess and Okami and what each one does. They were both originally released in 2006 almost side by side. The two Galaxy games are the pinnacle of 3D platforming. Brawl is the best multiplayer game on the platform. No More Heroes is the surest sign of zany-ass personality boosting a game's actual quality. And Klonoa is remake of a PS1 platforming gem. I prefer it to New Super Mario Bros. Wii and especially dig how well the (childish) story ties in perfectly with the actual platforming levels.
ok no easy feat this!
1. resident evil 4
simply because it is the best version of a brilliant game, the controls, especially the aiming system are excellent
2. mariokart wii
without a doubt the best multiplayer game......ever, and the online modes are cracking with pretty much no lag
3. super mario galaxy
a truly beautiful and charming game
4. zack and wiki
another wonderfully enchanting puzzle game
5. house of the dead : overkill
mindless splatter yes, but still very very entertaining!
6. monster hunter tri
the sheer scale of this game is breath taking, especially for what is considered to be a much lower spec system, it looks and feel massive, add in the excellent online modes and this will keep you busy for ages!
1. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
2. Super Mario Galaxy (1 or 2)
3. Metroid Prime Trilogy
4. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
5. Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon (not a very well known game, and some argue that the gameplay isn't even good, but it's still one of my favorite games ever)
6. No More Heroes 2 or Monster Hunter Tri. Can't decide between those 2 haha.
My 6 recommendations would be:
1. Super Mario Galaxy 2
2. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
3. Donky Kong Country Returns
4. Metroid Prime Trilogy (or if you can't find it reasonably priced I recommend Prime 3)
5. No More Heros 2
6. Red Steel 2 (just to see how well done the motion + was implemented)
1.) Super Mario Galaxy 2
2.) Metroid Prime Trilogy
3.) Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
4.) BWii
5.) Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
6.) No More Heroes
This is in my Opinion it might change it a few months after I play Xenoblade Chronicles and I still need DKCR.
1. Monster Hunter Tri
2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
3. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
4. Muramasa: The Demon Blade
5. Wii Sports Resort
6. Red Steel 2
Don't be hatin' on me, but I can't stand Super Mario Galaxy.
I actually don't even have Super Mario Galaxy 2 and haven't finished the first one but I just stuck it on my list anyways cause chances are the person will like it haha. Anyways, I like your list a lot.1. Monster Hunter Tri
2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
3. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
4. Muramasa: The Demon Blade
5. Wii Sports Resort
6. Red Steel 2
Don't be hatin' on me, but I can't stand Super Mario Galaxy.

Thanks! and finally another wii owner who isn't blindly in love with super mario galaxy lol
If you can only get six games, get the most variety for your buck so you can see the Wiis strengths and weaknesses in a variety of gameplay situations.- Xenoblade Chronicles (RPG)
- Donkey Kong Country Returns (2D Platformer)
- Super Mario Galaxy 2 (3D Platformer)
- Metroid Prime Trilogy (FPA)
- Mario Kart Wii (Racing)
- Monster Hunter Tri (Action Adventure)WreckEm711
Best recommendation so far . Not getting why so many people are recomending Super Mario Galaxy 1 AND 2. If she is only going to play six games to get the feel for the console why would you recommend basically the same game twice? :?
The only personal adjustment I'd make to the above list is switch "Donkey Kong Country Returns" with "New Super Mario Bros Wii" Mostly because of the 4-player co-op that HAS to be experienced. You and your friends will never laugh so hard! If you can't find 2-3 players to join you for that experience then I'd probably recommend DKC:R but for someone trying to get the full experience of the wii, NSMBW should not be missed

We must be long lost siblings or something, I was torn over which of the two to include, but I gave Retro the nudge because I heart them :P
Just SIX?!? Oh well, here goes...:
All six are exclusives to the Wii, and I would consider them as "must-have" type games as you're bound to find on the system.

They're two of the best games on the system, many consider them to be the best two games on a system. It makes perfect sense that people would recommend the best games.[QUOTE="knuckl3head"]

I love that they brought back the map system of the side scrolling games and brought to a 3D game.[QUOTE="knuckl3head"]

If I was buying 6 games I would want the 6 best, not the 6 most diverse,Amazing list!! I didnt think I'll be getting so many responses. Luckily there are quite a few repeats among all your recommendations. I'm going through screenchots and reviews to figure out the list I can get. Chances are I may be able to get 10+ games for wii as unlike the other two consoles the price does not average $50 for wii~
You guys are amazing, lovely suggestions. :)
1) The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
2) Super Mario Galaxy 2
3) Punch-Out!!
4) Donkey Kong Country Returns
5) New Super Mario Bros. Wii
6) Super Mario Galaxy

If I was buying 6 games I would want the 6 best, not the 6 most diverse,But the TC isn't asking for just the 6 best games to sit down and play. She has a goal and a budget and wants 6 games that will represent the system. Even if you beleive both SMG and SMG2 to hold 2 spots in the top 6 of your personal favourites your recommending she buy 6 and play 5. I'm sure she will get a feel for the SMG series by playing one or the other so if you loved both you should only recommend your favourite of the 2.
The reason why WreckEm's list I believe to be the most helpful is because he did a great job of selecting a wide variety of genres that compliments the wii's strengths and selected the must have title for each genre. If him and I were simply listing our 6 favourite games on the system i'm sure both our lists would look a little different.

The best representation of a system comes from its best games. Would you rather play a better game or a worse game? Please Log In to post.
