My First Castlevania Game...

Ok, so I bought Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow yesterday and started playing it till I reached the first boss but the problem is I can't beat it. The HP's for him always goes up. What am I supposed to do? Sorry, i'm a noob. Thanks.

It is not overrated, you can't appreciate it because you are still at the beginning (just give it a chance and get 100% in Julius mode too). Dawn of Sorrow is my favorite DS game...

When the magic seal thingy comes up, you have to draw the magic seal you learned earlier. You can practise drawing it if you press start and then "magic seals".Tonindo

You just jump and wack him with your sword man... he's the easiest boss in the game... good luck. If you don't draw the circle correctly and quickly, he heals back up. Unless you don't like side scollers, I don't see how this game could be hated. Maybe it's too hard for some? Portrait of Ruin is easier...

Probably not as popular as Mario games, but the quality ranks up there.

You just jump and wack him with your sword man... he's the easiest boss in the game... good luck. If you don't draw the circle correctly and quickly, he heals back up. Unless you don't like side scollers, I don't see how this game could be hated. Maybe it's too hard for some? Portrait of Ruin is easier...

Ugh, wow. That's weird. Well, it does take a little while to get his life down, you don't see a lifebar so you don't know how low he is. Just keep hitting him and avoid his attacks. Bosses don't fall that easy in this game. Just have to get used to how to dodge his moves.

Wuh? the first boss flies around and stuff, it's hard to reach his head. You can still hit his body for damage.

If you really feel hard...Before you see the boss, you may get yourself some levels up. This boss can not stop you anyway

Is this boss a flying head and heavy armor? It's a long time ago but I remember you can only make damage by hitting his body and his head will guard the attark.....(sorry if I have a bad memory)

summon the girl and try using "black hole (or called Dark hole)", and the boy keep attarking....I beat the Death this way...LOL

Wow, so I feel REAL old. My first Castlevania game was III Dracula's Curse. Anyway, this is an awesome game, which to be honest, I had a hard time with in the beginning of the game. There is a really good, and detailed guide for this which I got used on ebay for like $10. If after the first boss you're still having trouble, I'd recommend it. It has a ton of very useful strategies for the problems you're describing.

Also, I think it should be mandatory for someone to play a game at least 25% through before they start ranting about a game being 'overrated'.
