My Girlfriend is taking over!!

I came home last night from work to find my girlfriend playing Sonic on the VC. When i told her to shift so i could crack on with Zelda, she refused and carried on playing almost all night!!!

Im all for Nintendo broadening to scope of who plays games but this is rediculous!

But what it should amount to is: "My console, my rules."

Put the almighty foot down man. Put her in her place.

Your gaming console, your time to play.  If she was playing it already before you got home then there should be no excuse. Bump her off.

Oh yeah, dont get me wrong, i dont mind her playing! but after a hard days graft to be told i cant play my own console!!! GRRRRkilleryoda85

I didn't say there was anything wrong with her playing it.  What I'm saying is (and this applies to ALL situations involving wives, husbands, gfs, bfs, friends, and roommates) the owner of the console decides who plays at all times.  If you get home from work and you want to play the said console, I don't care if whoever's using it is busy curing cancer, they find a save point, they get up, and you start playing.

It depends on the opinion.  For instance, if I voiced the hypothetical opinion that Hitler was really cool and ranted about how awesome he was I would get suspended.  If I say something equally offensive but sexist sounding (even if it's not actually sexist) and someone is getting a little mark-happy I could just as easily be suspended.  It's just easier to be safe and go PC with it.

Mind you if i were in the same situation i would've probably been owned too :( 

After a hard day of work she should WANT to let you relax with your console some.

Get multiple consoles and multiple TVs.  Play a handheld if she's on the console.  Better yet, play a 2 player game that you can both enjoy.

Remember that there are hundreds of people who would like to have the "problem" of their girlfriend playing games.  :)

I would say how I honestly feel about this, but I guarantee I would get modded for "sexism". I'm not a mysoginist. I feel the appropriate action and wording would apply regardless of age or sex.

But don't you see?  That's the kind of mentality I'm trying to destroy.  She doesn't HAVE to be the boss if you don't want her to be.  If you do then that's fine, different strokes make the world go 'round, but if you don't then it's a problem and you need to learn how to stop it from happening.

And no, women are not smarter.  Some women may be smarter then some men (and vice versa), but I am sick of this "hes dum cuz he haz a peniz hurr hurr lol" feminist nonsense (not discrediting all feminism, just the kind specifically referred to here).  Some of us like to think for ourselves.
