I would love a darker Zelda game, with people pinned to crosses, and Link forced to watch his parents or someone important to him get stabbed to death on there, screaming. I also want Link to be a meaner character, have the animal inside him unleashed. Like if a guard robs a little girl, Link can hunt him down during the rain, at night, and beat the living crap out of him.
Also, when Zelda dies, they can have Hyrule ruled over by Gannondorf or some other dark ruler. Link could turn into a bee, too. That'd be awesome.
It's not going to happen, but a man can dream, can't he?
the changes I wanted to see in zelda are along the lines of this
Darker story, Link is so pure good in the old games. I want him to be an anti-hero like Jak in Jak 2. Jak worked for the mafia against the totalitarian corrupt government, doing things like assassinating bad guys and killing cops, all for the good of the people though. I want Link to do something similar, the ends justify the means kind of stuff.
I like the new weapons. Ball and chain was pretty cool. I personally like the spinner thing but there were only a few places outside the dungeon you got it in where it was actually needed or useful. Obviously you have to keep things like "the bow" but some new additions would be nice. (double clawshot, while being the hookshot, was still pretty sweet, even though I hated that temple with a passion)
more sidequests, OOT had a fair bit (gorons sword was a nice one), Majoras Mask had a ton (and the greatest reward of all time, Fierce Diety Mask!), and thats a big reason why I liked majoras mask so much. Side quests add some extra flavor to the game that nuts like me can go do but people who just want to see the end credits can pass by. TP was really lacking here (bugs, poe souls, magic armor, that carnival game with the clawshot, pieces of heart?)
Epicness. The battle with the Orc guy on the bridge in TP was SOOOO EPIC! I had the hugest nerdgasm in the cutscene after that. It was just so awesome! The more scenes like that the better
New Bad Guy. Zant was cool. Ganon was lame. I sincerely thought I beat the game after I killed Zant but nope theres Ganon. Zant was a pretty awesome enemy. That helmet he had was quite creepy and intimidating (even though he ended up just being a clone of all the other bosses)
Harder Puzzles. The fact that I was able to blow straight through the water temple in TP means it isn't hard enough. the water temple is infamous for being the most ungodly annoying monstrocity ever to be created and I went in and was like "oh wait lets make the stairs go this way HAHA THE WATER OPENED THE DOOR I WIN!" while as in OOT it was like "omg theres a gate and I can't get through. lets change the water level 4000 times before realising theres a secret path that needs the longshot which I don't have so lets go kill Dark Link first OMG I NEED ANOTHER KEY FIRST where is it 10 hours later I stumble upon it and return to fight dark link OMG HES STANDING ON MY SWORD HOW DO I KILL HIM! DENS FIRE! OUT OF MAGIC AND HES STILL ALIVE! Aha a river! oh wait theres whirlpools. Finally the longshot! now wheres the boss key AUGH!"
The only puzzle in TP that challenged me in any way was the ice level with the blocks and you need to get them over the switch. Took me a fair bit of time to crack that one and I can solve the rubiks cube...
Harder Fights. The only battle that was really somewhat difficult was the 3 dark nuts in the last room of the tower of pain. I thought there were 2 so I was like "AHA I'll jump right and fight them one at a time" but nope there was another one beneath my feet. I'd like some harder bosses. Dark Link was HARD. Zant was not (beat with 3 lives, long story)

i like the underworld idea but why should anyone be dead, or brutally murdered? theres no need for that
Yea, I'd love a darker LOZ game with sandbox style gameplay that allows you to kill everything.

I think I agree with you in every aspect.
first of all, ganon is one of the best bad guys ever, im dissapointed when i dont see him. secondly, of course the puzzles are easy, you've played through alot of the games, so you know alot of what they are gonna through at you. and as far as epicness, i think TP was fine, lots of cool fights and cutscenes. new weapons are cool as always, ball and chain was kinda weak, no real time to ever use it tho. i dont really care for a darker story either, i like the underworld, thats cool cause its a new location, but why change link? he's a hero, hes on a heroic quest, an epic quest to save the world, making him an anti hero would be kinda stupid imo.
i think zelda does so good because it stays true to the formula. its worked for years and it will still continue to work for years. if you're looking for an anti hero get an xbox and play something like fable where you can choose your destiny.

sorry to disappoint you but they've said they're making changes meaning straying away from the old formula. a lot of reviews said things like "its too similar to the other ones" and they're right. Its time for a fresh twist
I want the stealth elements from Wind Waker to comebaack, those were fun imo, and the use of daggers to pull of some gruesome kills...lol like that's gonna happen =P.
When I was playing TP and fighting that one Imp Boss that rides on that pig, i was thinking it would have been cool to use a like spears or something... Also the Dominion Rod better return with some new uses!

AUGH! all wands and rods in zelda games are laaaaame. lantern and rods were my least favorite items ever.
how pissed are you every time you open a chest "omg omg what is it this time. hookshot, bow, boomerang, OPEN IT AUGH! YES YES! LANTERN!?" *commits arson in rage*
i think they should give link the Power triforce AdventRedXIII
nah the enemies are too weak against him as is
Nintendo should lend out the Zelda franchise to David Jaffe so we could finally see some of this come to life. He could do a spin-off of the series. Nintendo limits the Zelda franchise by having it always be family-friendly.I would love a darker Zelda game, with people pinned to crosses, and Link forced to watch his parents or someone important to him get stabbed to death on there, screaming. Jaffe's satiristic way of gaming would also work well into the Zelda franchise.
I think Zelda should follow a similar story to its previous games (it doesn't need to be darker). I think puzzles should be more challenging and sword fights( including bosses!!!!) should be harder and more epic. Side-quests really aren't my thing but It wouldn't be bad if Nintendo through some in. The thing I would think would be cool would be a Co-op mode. I know they won't do this though( Plus I don't want it to happen because it might suck and then Zelda's will get bashed by fanboys and I don't like that).NFS102
Co-op would be pretty awesome; Army of Two anyone? How about you can control Link or Zelda/Sheik, depending on what you need to do. I don't want Zelda impersonating Peach again - we can only save so many princesses. Also, I'd like to see Zant return, but this time with him controlling Ganondorf instead of the other way around. And I agree with you about the need for more sword fights: the final battle against Ganondorf was pretty awesome, and there needs to be more of it in the game. And bring Dark Link back too.
They should make Link smoke cigarettes and start talkin' about people. thebisonx
Yeah, and he could mack on some hoes.
Seriously, he could be like one of those weird kings that goes around touching girls in places that they shouldn't be touched and kiss them on the neck, and stuff like that.
Or he could be a pimp, or a slave trader. I'd really love to see Link with an... attitude. "My name's Link, and I'm one bad*** mother ****er" :D

the zelda/shiek + link thing could be kind of like the two temples in WW where you have the partner (the bird girl and the leaf guy. forgot the names)
I'd be happy if there made a part of the main story to take place in a huge battlefield, link and epona on the left side, 900 enemies on the right side. EPIC :oTuky06
%100 agree

Then as you charge in, hundreds of Hylian soldiers come in behind a hill and flank the enemies!
