My old Gamecube freeloader used to work, is there a legal way to get it working?

When I first bought the Wii it worked but now it doesn't. I miss playing my import gamecube games. I could dig out my gamecube, but I don't have component cables for it so it looks crappy. When I insert my Freeloader(it was when they first came out) it plays the gamecube animation in the disc channel like everything is fine. But when I select it it either resets to the main menu or says there's been an error.

NOTE: I'm not asking for anything illegal, I own import Gamecube games and I just want to play them again.

Thanks.

If you have patched your Wii at all (either by playing new games or going online) then you have encountered the fearsome patch that plugged a lot of loopholes in the Wii system that allowed such things.

There is a chance that restoring your Wii to factory settings would do the trick, but every time you play that new game/go online your freeloader would just become bricked again.

But you can kiss your Wii saves goodbye every time you do it.

Do you still have a Gamecube? It would be safer to leave your Wii alone and use that.
