That's strange because when I was playing it I noted that the levels were a lot longer than in the first galaxy game and I too played the first game in preperation of the second (got 242 stars again then another 120 in yet another file)

i dont think so actually. i would say they are the same size, or slightly larger. considering the fact that i got used to playing galaxy 1 and got very good at it, i just jumped into galaxy 2as if i was continuing galaxy 1, infact that was my ony complaint about the game, because to me it felt like im continuing mario galaxies story with all new galaxies and power ups etc. but either way the game is excellent, im in 61 stars at world 5, gonna go for the 100 percent completion!!!

Some of the stars in SMG2 seem shorter, but not all of them.

That's my biggest complaint, so far.

I started playing it at noon yesterday, and the next thing I knew my parents were mad at me because I had sat in front of a screen for four hours without doing any chores.:P

My problems with it. Some slowdown on Super Massive Galaxy. Some shadow rendering errors. Controlling Fluzzard sucks,

Controlling Fluzzard sucks,OreoMilkshake

I don't care for this much.

I haven't gotten too far, but does anyone know if the swimming mechanics have improved from the first Galaxy?

I still hate the swimming. I saw the shadow errors. But it's still amazing. The only thing that's stopping me from fully enjoying some levels is the swimming part.

Will there ever be a Mario game with good swimming controls? Actually it seems like it's rare even for platformers in general.

honestly, my only problem with the swimming in mario games is jumping out of the water. never works. if i remember correctly, sunshine did pretty well on this matter... galaxy almost never required jumping out of the water, so it's not that big deal.

If the levels are shorter. Then wouldnt that be good? You could finish the game quicker. Unless of course you really liked the game and you never wanted it to end.

Fluzzard was FUN!

but yeah some levels were longer while some just seemed like "That was the level? LOL".

My only complaint in the game is that this game has 3 save files and not 6.
