Metroid Prime 3 and Medal Of Honor Heroes 2 are much better FPS experiences. They pretty much make dual analog for FPS feel like crap.

We're just saying, developers are more acustom to the Wii Remote features now, so most FPS that come out should play better than those launch titles.

You're making a hasty generalization here. Especially when your only evidence is one game you've tried, and another you've heard is bad.

If you had researched this, you would have known that those are the games to go with. I don't know about Medal Of Honor 2, but I can fully recommend Metroid Prime 3, while not a full on FPS, the elements are there and it's a great game.

I agree with everyone before me, don't judge a genre of video games on a console unless you have at least tried 3 of that genre.

Also, the Wii Zapper is making it better for FPS.

Metroid Prime 3 is an excellent adventure-FPS hybrid but the Wii really does need more.

MOH:H2 is decent but overall has way too many drawbacks. No split-screen multiplayer both online and offline is my biggest complaint. The physics and graphics in the game are PSP quality, the Wii can do much better. The campaign mode is somewhat shallow (not really a big deal though). On the bright side the game does have good basic controls, and the online is lagfree. But if I see anouther WW2 shooter I might just barf.

I'm hoping that Nintendo steps up and makes a must-buy console-selling FPS game to compete with the likes of Halo. The Wii-mote is perfect for FPS games and it amazes me that no one has even tried to make a cult FPS game for the Wii. I'm still hoping that Timesplitters 4 is a Wii exclussive and at the very least included on Wii.

edit: A headset would be nice too.

Actually, the wii zapper isn't that great.

Metroid was great, and MOH:H2 is amazing (especially online), But I'm wondering why the crap there's only two good ones. Start making more shooting games! thats practically what the wii was meant for!

Also, I'm praying to God that someone figures out how to make splitscreen on the wii, and gets frickin online chat! If someone figures out how to do that, their game will sell out as well as the wii did.(and still is)

I think that the Wii is capable of having excellent FPS, with the Wii mote. MOH2 and MP3 have already proved that. I hope they continue making more FPS for the Wii.

From what I have heard the Wii Zapper is pretty bad. But a third party gun works very well.

So you ranted about something without having any information on the subject?

Well it's not the first time it's been done here but I can't say it's something you should try regularly

True, when it comes to precision and speed, nothing beats the K/M combo, but for a lot of people, the use of the keyboard hinders the ability to do many things. I my self sometimes get that, "Ah, just pressed the wrong key" with some FPS games. The best sample I can give is when I played Halo on the PC, I was just not comfortable with that set-up, of course I understand that the game was made with the xbox controller in mind. On the other hand, I found it really hard to play the Max Payne games on the xbox, when it was so much easier on the PC.

Just a point about the Wii zapper, if you play at ranges between two and three metres from your TV the zapper is superb. The only FPS designed for it is Medal of honour heroes 2 at the moment and for some bizzare reason i rock when using the zapper in multiplayer and suck when using the elite default controls. The zapper adds that bit of extra stability making it possible to get a head shot with a .45 at it's maximum range of 50 metres (god how it suprised me that a developer bothered with actual combat ranges in FPS, usually they make you blast each other at point blank range or rely on a sniper rifle for anything beyond 30 metres). As for CoD3 i traded it in because of the dire snap to grid aimng bug that occurs in every level causing you to swivel endlessly, even far cry wasn't as broken and i managed to enjoy that til the ending. Metroid 3 is brilliant but for different reasons as like most FPS games it relies on the point blank shoot an dodge mechanics, but it is done very well, simplistic but well. I enjoyed red steel, that is only poor due to the katana fighting not being to everyone's taste, the gun fughts are great imo. haven't tried MoH vangaurd so cannot comment on that, but if i was reviewing CoD3 was the worst(even if it did get good reviews on GS, they are wrong).

There might not be meny, but MOH2 is awsome and metroid prime 3, although more of an adventure game is fantastic. If you want plain old FPS's without awsome motion controls then buy a xbox360 you newb!
