What can i do in this situation? I am about 9 hours in, and it has frozen around 3-4 times.

I did a quick search with many others experiencing this problem. Unfortunately, nobody can pinpoint the cause, as different people experience the freeze in different locations, like after beating a boss battle.

It's strange because these people experience the freeze on their second playthrough, with around 45 hours into the game. You've only clocked in 9 hours. Anyway, they suggested to save often. I'm sorry I couldn't be anymore help; I've never played the 3DS version yet.

Turn off all unnecessary features.

-3D

-Lighting to max of 3

And of course, save when you can. I waited too long and am on second Playthrough on Feres Island (Sorry if spoiled), trying to beat it on Hard Mode to get Berserker costume title

-256+ Hard Mode Battles, then talk to guy standing up front on the pillar to the right of the coliseum. He's punching and kicking.

Wait, turning off 3D and putting light to lvl 3 will help? Where did you hear this? Just wanting to make sure, i think i have the lighting on the max setting, and i didn't really use 3D that much.

About 40 hours in, on my first playthrough, and have had no freeze up problems. I guess I better watch out on my second playthrough though.
