Does it having it on standby(wiiconnect 24) warm your Wii?
What do you recommend me to do so the wiiconnect is on but not warming my console up. Should I jsut turn off wiiconnect off for a while?

I dont want a fan. Should I just disconnect Wii Connect a few time every other day? Or should I jsut connected it when I really need it? Lets say I leave it on always without a cooling fan, will it mess up my Wii?

Were did u get this fan and for howcome? Im interested now, now im scared my Wii might brake(lol)happy_dude63
It does make it HOT!
I turn mine off once in a while just so it doesn't melt my dresser where it sits. I don't leave disks in anymore either cuz they get pretty hot too.
BUT... nintendo has siad there have been no reports that this actually causes damage to your wii, but having a console at 100 degree 24/7 doesn't sound fun. does make a good space heater though.

wow...you shouldn't be worried its a little heat that is being generated by it constantly being on...its not a problem there is no way it would damage your wii because if it did nintendo would probably do something about it.
Since there is zero reason to leave WC24 on anyway, you might as well leave it off. It killed my Wii's GPU so I for one will never leave it on again. The benefits don't outway the risks - because there are no benefits. Just leave it off.RyanWare
No, if you had a problem it's because you had a defective Wii.
Leaving Wiiconnect on didn't do anything to your console.
People, the Wii doesn't have a heating problem. The system has no padding so you're able to feel it's temp easier then say your standard TV set that also stays on all the time. Some of the Wii's had problems a very SMALL number I might add. That's because they were defective, not because of any kind of design flaw.
Do not get a fan if your Wii is too hot. If your Wii is too hot then you have a defective Wii and need it replaced. If your Wii isn't too hot then it's fine and you're just wasting your money on a fan.

I agree...if only you could feel how hot your pc is would you freak out about that too?

I've heard it a million times. But the fact is that, even with a defective Wii, you likely won't notice any problems unless you leave it on standby. So, again I ask, why would anyone leave standby on? You run the risk of ruining your Wii GPU *if you have a defective Wii, and any one of us could* and there are no benefits to having stadby on as it's never used.
Therefore, I recommend leaving it off. The only reason I can possibly see for leaving it on, is to put the Wii through a stress test to make sure it isn't defective. Because right now, that is literally all the standby mode is good for.

Your entire argument is "if you have a defective Wii don't have it fixed just don't use it fully"
For the vast majority of all console owners I think they'd want to know that they have a defective unit and while it might not have the greatest use now there's no saying what could change in the life of the console.
Also certain features wont work on the Wii menu or in certain games without it.

Which is why I said "The only reason I can possibly see for leaving it on, is to put the Wii through a stress test to make sure it isn't defective." Some people may want to do that.
All the same, I'm not trying my luck twice. It took a month to get my Wii replaced and I don't want to do it again. Until Nintendo gives me a real reason to leave standby on, I won't. It's pretty simple really.
