i was playing dead space extraction and i got to the end of chapter 3 (at least i think it was the end) and it frove and made that same tone in the video which was coming from the speakers and not the wii.

the only way to get it to stop was to pull the power cord from it, removing the disc or pressing power didnt fix it.

i want to know why did this happen and how do i prevent it from happening again?

and the wii was NOT hot.

Hmmm, this happened to me once. I unplugged it, plugged it back in and didn't have the problem again. It happens sometimes I guess. If it keeps happening then that's obviously not good... I wish you the best of luck with it.

[QUOTE="DGDFDGFBBYT"]

it happened to me but you have to stop playing with the wii for about an hour if you try another game and it doesn't happen then its the game.

good luck with that.

Mine kept on freezing with different games all of a sudden.

Then I noticed there was quite a bit of dust in one of the air vents.
I vaccumed up the dust with the vaccum cleaner attachment and it hasn't happened since.

I think it was just overheating.

Overheating. Dust accumulation. Or the lens needs cleaning.

Only games that ever froze on me was Rock Band and Guitar Hero. All I did was remove the disc, power everything off, turn them back on then insert disc and everything was fine.

Check if anything needs cleaning sucha as your game, air vents, etc. I don't think it will happen again, but if it does take it to Best Buy or someplace to get it checked.

Iono I wouldn't worry about it much, I got mine like 2-3 weeks after its launch. The only game that froze on me was RE4, and yes it made the same sound. But my Wii is still working fine, I guess some games just freeze.

My Wii has done that too. It has only happened a couple times and each incident was a few months a part. I usually just unplug it then plug it back in and it works just fine.

My Wii did that a few times.
I removed the game, unplugged the system and left it undone for a few hours to a day and it worked fine.
Hope your Wii starts working.

My Wii did that during it's first days. When that happened I freaked out and unplugged the system IMMEDIATELY and left it alone for 2 days.

after day 2 It was playing again.

Never had that again.

By the way, my Wii has froze on me countless times while trying to open the shop channel and I had to unplug the electrical cord everytime. Never encountered any performance issues because of it. I wouldn't worry about it too much if at all. It has also dropped on its side really hard a couple of times thanks to my pulling of the Gamecube controller cord while playing its games and still no performances issues to complain about. It's a very durable console.
