It's perfectly normal, but if you feel paraniod that it might overheat you could always spend $10 on fan. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802630

Don't worry about it. It means it's working right.

I thins it's normal that the Wii gets warm, anyway you can buy a fan made specailly for the wii. I saw one that is like the wii base and another one that goes in the actual Wii fan, they are pretty cheap.

there's a simpler solution than buying fans... you turn off Wiiconnect24 so the system isn't always connected to the internet.

It's normal for the Wii to get hot in standby. Make sure you have room for air to circulate around the Wii, especially make sure if you put it wide side down that you put it on a hard surface. The little feet can sink into carpet and you won't have any air circulation on the bottom.

Ha, that reminds me. I had a class in the computer lap last semester, and during the winter when it was cold in the mornings, I would put my hands over the computers exhaust fans to warms them up

Other reported having image problems. The network card can melt the graphic card, the fan doesn't work on stand by. Search around the net to read about it. Also, you don't need to unplug your Wii, just hold the on button to turn it off. The light will become red.
