My Wii has been updating for over 12 hours on WiiConnect24. Is this normal? Should I deactivate WiiConnect. This happens all the time for me. I turn the system on, then try to update it myself and it says no updates avalible, but when I turn it off, WiiConnect starts again. Its on right now as a matter of fact, anyone else Wii updating now.

If the yellow light is on does that mean your wii is updating and if its off when you see the red light.

Just go the the options of the wiiconnect24 and turn off standby mode...That is what i did...When the light is orange that mean wii24 is connected by the standby mode nothing more..If you turn off standby the light will then be red..Thenyou can manually update the system

When the blue light comes on, that means it is ready for an update. Go on your Wii, and check your email. An email from Nintendo should pop up about an update telling you to update your system.

Seriously, it is not a testament to yourself to throw away the instruction manual. You're not impressing anyone. Save it so when things like that happen, you dont have to clutter the forums.

Just a friendly suggestion.

if you didn't see the blue bar progressing, close it and restart, if it does still move, let it go

Actually, if it is taking that long to update, something is interfering with your console connection. You should turn off or move cordless phones, make sure your microwave is not running (although I'm sure you are not running that for twelve hours), and there are other quick fixes. If you are still having problems, you should call Nintendo @800-255-3700. There is no way it should take that long to update. Then again it could be your Internet provider as well. Some types are slower than others. My friend gets his through satellite and his takes awhile.
My Wii has been updating for over 12 hours on WiiConnect24. Is this normal? Should I deactivate WiiConnect. This happens all the time for me. Also the update can freeze. PCs expierence this from time to time. Basically the update gets stuck in a loop. Only way to free it is often to pull the plug.
