No joke! what do I do?? I rang Nintendo customer support and they just told me its a new motion effect they packaged into their new Mario game! I reckon thats a load of BS because I live on a farm and have touched Electric fences before so I damn well know what a electrical shock is! What do I do? is there anyway to fix this? or will I have to buy a new controller?

seriously though get a new controller, its not suppose to do that. Also see if you can return it to whever you bought it so that you can get your money back.

Now you're playing with Power!!!

Seriously though, I'd take that controller back because that's a defective unit.

If you got it in a retailer, return it! Make sure your hands are dry, too. that could be an issue.

It must be static, touch some metal before picking up your wiimote. Seriously, 2 AAs don't have enough voltage or amperage to even give you a tingle.

but it IS a new feature from the new mario game! jk :P first thing to do is not using it again to avoid bigger damage both to the remote and you. then you try again customer support and hope it's not a jerk that answers the phone.

Are you using one of the rechargeable battery packs for it? The new Game informer mentioned one of the companies that sells the rechargeable packs and charge stations is recalling a bunch of them for just this reason. Don't have the mag in front of me so I can't give u the name of the company though

DaBrainz

I agree. It has to be static electricity. Even if the batteries were powerful enough to give you a noticeable shock, your hand would have to be creating a path between the positive and negative battery terminals, and the remote's design makes that impossible.

Umm, I don't think plastic is a very good conductor. Maybe you're insane? Are you sure it's not the rumble?

I don't know what it is, my guess would be a joke, but I would like to see a video of someone getting shocked with it... That would make a pretty good viral video IMO.

I'm thinking he's mistaking the "electrical shocks" for the rumble as well. I've been shocked before and I would say that if you were to mistake any game controller's rumble for a mild electical shock it would be the wiimote's

Obvious joke is obvious. Obvious from the moment I saw the Mass Effect avatar and realized this is the guy from SW who likes to make mild, seemingly harmless troll posts, and watch them grow like wlidfire (at least methinks :/). Bravo, you've tricked people yet again .

am i only one who knows how to fix this problem? take the controller, place it in your back pocket, and go to your nearest video game retailer. then lay down in a parking space. i promise it will solve all of your problems.
