Now when I turn my wii off by tapping the power button or turning off the console via Wii remote it doesn't completly turn off. It's almost in a sleep mode as in I can see where my rockband stuff is still on but my wii has no picture and if I turn the remote on it oes back on fully. to finish turning it off I have to hold the power button when it's in the "sleep mode" anyone know what's going on?

Is your Wii online? There is a WiiConnect24 option in the Wii Options menu. If you have it turned on your Wii will go into sleep mode so that it will remain connected to the internet even when it is not on. Check that out. You can turn that option off so that your Wii will turn off when you turn it off.

Look up "wii connect" online or in the manual!

That might help you understand your situation better :)

if connect 24 is on it shuts off to an orange light. there is a low power mode that lets you have connect24 on and power off to a red light if you wish. if you shut it off to a red light you can't get messages.
