So, yea, what type of game is it? It's suppousidly is coming out in America this July (according to Gamespot), yet I haven't heard anything about this game.

The only Myst I know of is the old point and click adventure game for the PC...
*edit*
Just had a look, seems to be a remake of the above. :) Was a very good game in its day and should work rather nicely on the 3DS actually.

I played it on the Playstation waaaay back when I was younger. Its a nice puzzle game and can hook you in.
It was a huge deal back in the day. I remember playing it back on my 486 (I think, might have been on Pentium by that point). It's an adventure game w/ lots of puzzles. It is actually sort of a few steps further in the evolution of those really old text based adventure games. There is no action at all, just exploration and puzzle-solving. They don't give you much of a clue what's going on and hints are sparse so it's really, really tough too. Some of the puzzles I always thought were pretty cheap because they were not only hard to figure out but then often the solutions would be hard to enter and you'd never know if you just had it wrong or if you just had to keep trying. I recall lots of frustration.
Also, this is another thing w/ baffling pricing on 3DS. It's $30 for 3DS and $5 for iOS or $6 on Steam. Definitely worth checking out as it's a serious piece of video game history. I am just doubting whatever enhancements they made for 3DS make it worth so much more.
I remember watching my cousin play this game. Isn't this game like pretty well known? That's what i feel when i think about it.hydralisk86Yea it was huge back in the mid 90s or so. I didn't play it. I was busy with doom lol
As much as I love the Myst games, the trailer makes Myst on 3DS look terrible. Pretty much everything is displayed on the 2D touchscreen, so you don't get to see the game world in 3D - the primary reason for wanting the game on 3DS. The 3D screen displays either a map, a closeup of written text because the touchscreen is too small for it to be legible, or a static Myst logo. Then there's the screenshots, which are pretty shady. They're images from RealMyst at a resolution higher than the 3DS is capable of displaying, and they don't match up at all with what the trailer shows.

You can get Myst and RealMyst for $6 on both Steam and gog.com, and Myst is available for $5 on iOS with RealMyst for iOS currently in production (price unknown), not to mention you could probably find used copies for the various other systems it's been ported to. With all those options, and the lack of consistency and quality in the trailer and screenshots, $30 for the 3DS version doesn't look like a good way to go.
