where are they? =(. I think the DS could have so much more potential if they released the classics, I mean yeah they've got mario 64 and and maybe a few others. But wheres zelda?? wheres goldeneye and donkeykong and banjo kazooie aaaah! (I love the N64 btw... =] ) I looked this up myself and apparently they can't bring out games owned by rare, so then why is diddykong racing being released? and why don't they bring out they're own classics?

because new ideas may not sell well but old classic games redone will sell great.

You really think that Nintendo and third-party companies are going to stop making new games with new ideas because Nintendo are porting N64 games? The answer is, no. Of course Nintendo will continue making new games for the DS if they make ports as well, because ports only require a short amount of time to develop compared to new games. I would love to see some classic N64 games on the DS, such as Banjo-Kazooie, GoldenEye and of course, Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Ports aren't a bad thing, they are just an addition.

In a sort of half answer to the main question... my guess is that MS is a bit selective about which games they will let Rare publish for other systems.  Diddy Kong Racing is not that big a deal, but Goldeneye?  Aside from the fact that EA holds the license to Bond, Goldeneye is a big game, so MS will want to keep the big ones to themselves.

Actually Activision owns the rights to 007 Games.

This is brought up a lot.... Rare owns Banjo, Conker, etc. However, Nintendo owns DK. That's why Rare's DK Racing is on DS.
