Online is a pretty lame omission. Arcade games are always awesome to play online.

YES. from what it sounds like, its being loyal to the original NBA jam games, so definitely get this!

Online is over rated (for this sort of game). There is nothing better than a churrascada and some local multi-player game with a couple of beers...

Oh dear not this again. Its obvious that games with arcady multiplayer can also be greatly enhanced by online. It more competitive and for people who do not have 3 other people its a big difference.

im grateful im have some friends willing to play JAM with me, BUT what if i travelled?or had no gamer friends??Online for this stuff is welcome, so thats a bit surprising from EA given how they always give Wii online mode for sports(mostly!).

Ya there is no way someone can tell me online is overrated or not needed for this game. I am one of the biggest proponent s for criticizing games that just slap online into a game that was not built for multiplayer. Bioshock 2 being an example even if the online is fun the game would have been loads better if all those resources were spent on a more narrative and compelling campaign. But this is all about multiplayer just like NSMBW. Heck I have people to play with, but not many people that I can play competitively with unless my casual core friends decide to surprise me or my family members somehow figure out how to gain a leg up on a seasoned player. Thats not to mention how much people like leaderboards.

Exactly!

Online in these types of games is awesome.

Street Fighter 2 hyper fighting on xbla was an amazing experinece for me thanks its online, made so many freinds.

This game needs online with voice chat and no freind codes!

Its not even a matter of not having 3 other ppl. I have freinds that would come over and play this with me, but how often? Realisticaly like maybe once or twice a week.

With online I have the option of finding 3 other ppl to play whenever and still get to play with my local freinds when I can, having more than one option is always better!

I'm not saying that I hate it or I prefer not to have online. I'm just saying that, to me, for arcade games like that, having or not online is fine... Of course, the more options, the better (well, most of the times).

It looks good but I hope there is something worth doing in single player, I don't have people to play with.

I follow the NBA really close so I will give this a good look. Considering the NBA games on the Wii have hardly received any glowing reports any basketball game, arcade or simulation will catch my eye.

I dont really like that preview. Did anybody else notice that Craig kept saying "the Wii version" as if there are other versions of the game being made? Those rumors might have been true.

I figured it was "the wii version" in relation to the genesis/SNES/GBA/N64 versions. it IS a revival, after all

Maybe, but I'm still quite skeptical at this point. He could have choose better words if that is the case.
