Hey fellow gamers, my girlfriend just gave me her wii and I found myself not being a huge fan of the whole Point to shoot thing and what not. (much prefer a mouse) anyways, are there any good arcade style games for the wii or non that dont use the wii sensor for 90% of the way you use the remote. Also note I dont have the num chuck. I just want a fun game i can jump into and enjoy without point at the screen all the time.

Thanks

-Chris

I would say maybe New Super Mario Bros. Wii. That just uses the Wiimote sideways. There is some motion sensor use but its minor.

Other then that I'm finding hard to come up with any that you wouldn't need the nunchuck or classic controller.

Games I like which don't use it much are

  • Metroid Other M (platformer/shooter)
  • New Super Mario Wii (platformer)
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (RPG)
  • Murumasa (platformer)
  • Kirby's Epic Yarn (p[latformer)

Only get Kirby if you want a dead easy cutesy poo platformer. It's creative and fun but not much of a challenge.

Also check whether the games you play support the Advance controller too. Some games, like Xenoblade, can use it instead of the whole wiimote/nunchuck combo.

Muramasa the demon Blade.(but u need a chuck) Metroid other M NSMBWii DKCr You need a nunchuck...then even a game like super mario galaxy 1/2 or No more heroes 1/2 would be playable. They dont require that much motion.

Those are fine choises however don't get metroid prime other M.

That games has dire dependency on pointing with the Wii remote, and that is what the OP doesn't want.

Good games that don't use motion control

  • Super Smash Brothers Brawl
  • Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
  • Harvest Moon ToT
  • Virtual Console Games

Good games that use motion control that don't have "pointing"

  • No More Heroes
  • Monster Hunter Tri

...Honestly, just get used to the poining. It's kind of nescesary.
