I want to get myself the Ds.

Which one should i go for? Lite or dsi? I want to play all the mario games (super mario world, yoshi' island, mario bros 3, mario bros 2). I must indulge in my nostalgia. The fact that i never could finish super mario world on the snes still angers me, and the fact i can save anywhere in the ds version is just splendid.

I want to play all the donkey kong games country games. But i have one concern. How do they look. The GS screenshots looks terrible and not the way i remember the games. Are they true to the original games? Why is there score so (7 somthing). Why is DKC on the gbc rated higher than the Gba one?

I also want to get the castlevania games and the metroid games (never played a single game in those series).

Since i love adventure games id love to play the phoenix wright, and the other good ones on the ds.

Is the ds lite perfectly backward compatible with all the gba games? Or does it have isssues? ANy particulay model no. of ds i should look for? Does the ds lite have issues similar to the psp 3000, in which case its worse than its predecessor?

Are all the gba games i mentioned still easily available at retail?

Thanks.

Edit- also what about region locking. I hope i can import games from the states(if i want to), as i live in a pal region. Any issues there?

1)if you want to play game boy advance games, get the lite. THe dsi has no gba port

2) on donkey kong: if i remember correctly they are the same game. NO ds has the ability to play gameboy color games, so get the gba version...

3) there is castle vania games for both the ds and the gba, ds games imo are better games. Metriod (the 2d **** have only been released on gba.

4) all ds lites are 100% backwards comaptibility, dsi however is not.

5) on Gba games availability: Doubt it, check your local gamestop, and ask the guy at the counter. or check ebay

Sorry for weird formating, i originally had your quote divided up, and put my answers inbetween... then i got some weir .html error sorry :P

gamestop and EB usually have alot of used GBA games, FDrom like 5-10 dollars. i purchased alot of cheap, safe, and reliable games. i thing you could find at least one of the countries and a mario game. i' really mad that i didn't pick up the other to DK games, i only have 3.

Hope that helps.

I'm pretty sure the DSi is region locked.

Sounds like yout need a Lite. The DSi can't play GBA games
