Definitely good news for the Virtual Console.

Though, this does bring up a potential problem of space considering some of the very popular Neo-Geo games ranges from 10mbs to 80mbs as ROMs.  Now add in the built in emulator each Virtual Console game gets, and the 512mb of internal memory on the Wii, space is starting to run out soon.

I'd be really surprised to see the Neo Geo stuff released here. Outside of Fatal Fury and Samurai Shodown, there's simply no market. How many of you played Nightmare in the Dark or Platypus?

Although, I'd love to see Dodgeball, that game rocked hard. Being a Japanese Wii owner, I'll have a chance to check it out, but the pricing scheme for VC titles varies quite a bit on the Japanese shop. Considering how much an AES cart goes for, NoJ and SNK will probably charge 2600 points for the games.

the MSX / MSX2 wasn't even released in North America, so we won't be seeing that for sure. Even if we did, I don't think there would be much of a market at all.

We DID have a little system called Atari 2600 over here though, and a great system that got no play, the Master System/Mark III. hopefully we'll see some additions too, but probably not the SNK and MSX libraries...

NOW you're talking!

The Sega Master System is the most overlooked system on the face of the Earth
It had graphics that were far and away the best of that generation and the games were just great
Just the other day I was hoping one day we'd see games like Wonder Boy in MonsterLand and the the Dragon's Trap.

Even if Nintendo feels the market will be small, I hope they bring Neo Geo VC to the states.  I loved Samurai Shodown!

I owned a Neo Geo CD. it was in its decline when i got it and got it cheap. I would love to see some Neo Geo games come out in the states.
One problem is, some of the most popular have been released on the Wii as Metal Slug Anthology.

But I would love to play the Samaurai Showdowns, Fatal Fury's, King of Fighters, art of fightings, world of heroes again.
then you have Windjammers, Baseballs Stars, 2020 Super Baseball, and even super sidekicks.

yes, the carts were big, but were uncompressed. You could easily compress those today into 2 or 3mb, if not more.

I am hoping for Garou Mark of the Wolves and King of Fighters 98

Are you forgetting that Neo Geo was available in US? Saying 99% of only know about it through illegal emulation is quite an exaggeration.

800 points for MSX games is a rip-off of epic proportions. It is by far the worst system available on the VC, yet costs as much as the SNES. Wii-diculous.

I never heard of MSX in my life, but as far as Neo Geo titles goes, if it is 800 points as well, it is beyond worth it.

I remember the NEO GEO system itself was hundreds of dollars and each game cartridge were couple hundred dollars as well, it felt like paying 4x as much as today's standard and it was a priviledge to own one. Even though the system transitioned to the CD system, it was still very expensive. I am sure most of us who have played NeoGeo in the past did it at a Coin-Op Arcade where you could select between 4 different games.

If MSX is anything like Neo-Geo, then the 800 pts is justfied.

Ever since SNK now known as SNK-Playmore transitioned out of the NeoGeo system after 15+ good years, now I wish it was possible for titles using the Atomiswave engine appear on the VC.

Same here. I mean, you can find the first Metal Gear on NES, but the "good" sequel is only on MSX.
