I have never played the original Zelda OoT, but have always loved playing the classic gameboy zelda games and loved them. Is this game going to be worth playing for newcomers like myself?
I'm hoping so, as I've never played the Original either. In fact, I've only played Spirit Tracks. But Zelda is a highly regarded series, it should be really good.
Oh yeh i forgot all about Phantom Hourglass for DS, which was a great game apart from the travelling between islands. What i really was asking, was OoT a great game for its time and that's it? It seems that the majority of people looking forward to this game are people who have played it in the past. Will someone like me who hasn't played any Zelda game not on a portable system think much of it? Thanks for ur replys too poeple :)
OoT is one of my favorite games of all time, I think it deserves to be played even if you'll played it 4 times before. It really is one of the best games out there in my opinion. If you like adventures games then this will be a breath of fresh air.
i was in the odd situation where i played windwaker before OOT. i got OOT with windwaker. so all the big wow moments that people had at its launch on the N64 had no effect on me. but is it a good game and worth playing if you havent played it before and have no nostalgia for it? oh yes. its good fun and classic zelda so its pretty much iranteed quality. i wont be getting the 3DS version as i already have the game on that GC disc. but if you dont have a version if it yet the 3DS version looks to be the one to get. you can get it on the VC also for 1000 points i think also. but the 3DS version looks like itll solve a few annoyances with the classic version around inventory, itll have upgraded visuals and it seems there adding some more stuff to it also. so that looks like the best version to get. but the game is well worth a play still.
Nowwould bethe perfect time to pick up an all time classic. I haven't played OOT since it first came out years ago. I'm looking forward to replaying it with updated grafics and 3d.
You'll probably find certain parts of the game cliche, maybe even archaic. If you've somehow managed to avoid the major story points in the game, then you might find something of interest but then again if you've got experience with any of the other Zelda games there's nothing really out of the ordinary in OoT. On the positive side of things, it's still a great game, the music is as good as ever, it seems to be improving upon the original in a lot of ways and it's a good idea (as a gamer) to try out the game and look at it from a historical perspective.

Yeah! If you liked the other zelda games you will love it! Yeah, it's not a top down camera like the other portable zeldas, but the puzzle elements are topnotch and the combat and boss battles are fun. Maybe you'll even grow the Navi hate, its trendy.:D

Best not to get one's expectations too high. You need to keep the game design philosophy in context.

I highly bet you will like Ocarina of Time if you haven't played it. It is the best Zelda game aside from Link to the Past and Majora's Mask.
Best game ever made and thats been proven lol i joke! My fave game of all time, I wish It had never been released and it was coming out tomorrow just so i could feel it again for the first time. absolutely essential purchase. In fact, buy it twice... it's that good! Magic :)
Yes yes yes. Best Zelda game, and one of the best games ever in my opinion. And with updated graphics it won't feel quite as dated. Every gamer should play through this game at least once... I've played through it a couple times on the N64, a couple times in the Zelda special collector's edition for GC that Nintendo Power sent out, and I'll be buying it on the 3DS as well. I even named my band after a weapon in this game... it's a classic.
Well if you have a 3DS I can see it being one of the best titles for the year.. but that aside the original was one of the best, if not the best, on 64
