RPGs are pretty barren on the system at present unless you never owned a DS and missed its catalog of games. For strategy, Ghost Recon Shadow wars is dirt cheap and a hell of a lot of fun. For Nintendo, Mario 3D Land. If you also want to play online, Mario Kart 7. If you've never played Ocarina of Time, get that too, although if you have know that it has nothing new other than the 3D effect and some new character models. Pilotwings and Starfox are also worth a buy if/when they're cheap.
Star fox looks awesome i must admit I was eyeing that up I did have a ds until I lost it recently so upgraded I had played a fair few RPGs on there what would u recommend from what is available RPGs wise on the 3ds?? Any unconventional RPGs available??
Not sure if it is an RPG, but Tales of The Abyss is on the 3DS. I'm only 5 hours into the game, but if you want to know if it's a good game, you could ask other people. I'm only a little into the game, so i can't really give a good, overall review on it.

Of course Tales of the Abyss is an RPG! And a great one at that! I highly reccomend it I have put many hours into it and everything about it is amazing :D
