Reason why I hate Nintendo... GANGSTASAN
what? nintendos giving u the choice to upgrade not making u buy a new one
IGN says that this new DS will have larger screens... What's the point of that since games still operate on the same resolution?
Smart business strategy by Nintendo although I loath them for it.

Maybe it would have next-gen games with higher resolutions and backward compatibility with original DS games.
ds with camera?
if this is true, what will happen to the old DSes?
what if we want to play games that requires a camera? does nintendo already thought about it? if so, then they will make a camera add-on for the old DSes..

Its probably a new handheld all together! You know, like the Gameboy to the Gameboy Advance!?
When you play standard DS games on this new system I wouldnt doubt the resolution stays the same as it would play on a standard DS, like how the GBA games stayed the same resolution on the DS.

I hope it's a new handheld. I only recently caved and bought the DS and I don't want to find out that it's becoming obselete.doesnt seem real, a little too gimmikie and close to the xmas season to
be real. dont think gonna happen. question does it even matter if it does or doesnt,
the system is already good enough, it doesnt need anything else
rofl, theyre not gonna make games where u need a camera to play it, that would be so stupidds with camera?

we will then have to buy new DS's if they come out with a phoenix game.......I'm In :D
I'll buy one :). What gets me is that people think music playing capabilities is reserved for the Psp only, meh it ' the Psp's main attraction so whatever, but a camera? pretty sweet! Nintendo is quick to realize the fact that gamers are changing, they want a little bit more then just a game system. I don't like the feeling that my beloved Ds is going to become obsolete though.savatoex
I'm not in the same boat. I'd rather spend less for something I want, (a handheld game console) than a pricey 'catch-all.' That's one of the reasons I got a DS instead of a PSP. It was cheaper. If I wanted to listen to music I can go buy a twenty dollar MP3 player, (which I already have and am happy with it) the same goes with a camera, I have one on my phone already. If this is true and is a completely new hand-held I doubt I'll buy it for those sheer facts. If it has better graphics, things that pretain towards gaming I may just get it; but truthfully I'm not ready to upgrade. There are plenty of games that I want for the DS and I haven't even had my DS for long. Honestly I'd rather see an increase in quality games, (not saying there aren't any) as one guy said, more 1st party games, than a new hand-held altogether. But hey, if Nintendo thinks they can make money off this, more power to them.
The only thing that would interest me in a new DS is one that included WPA WiFi encryption so that I could use my DS on WiFi networks with such encryption. I don't view the DS as the same type of portable device as a PSP or IPod/MP3 player. I think it would be a dumb idea to go that route with a device that's known for its simplistic gaming and communication abilities.
I'm bored with built-in cameras in devices.
I own both a PSP slim and a DS lite and must say that I spend more time playing games on my DS because it isn't a huge convoluted machine. My PSP only gets used a few times a month but I carry my DS everywhere with me because it serves its purpose and does it very well!
Yeah a completely new DS would be awesome. I dont see why everyone is complaining about the camera and music. Those are welcome additions to me. I would love for the ds to have a built in music player. So if im out of town i dont have to carry an Ipod just to listen to music and a DS to play games. violentken88
Additions that allow them to jack the prices.
I'm fine with the current DS
