I remember reading somewhere that they were thinking about remaking another one, I think it might have been V. I'm pretty sure it was in an older Nintendo Power interview back when FFIV was being redone.
Square-Enix just released a bunch of new info today on their newest RPG for the DS! Unfortunately I can't read Japanese... If anyone can help out there that would be great. It isn't Final Fantasy but it's made by some of the same people.
Of course there will be a new one. With the amount of people that love Final Fantasy, there is a ton of money to be made. Plus once they have coded one FF for the DS coding more is less effort.
