I keep hearing this term FPA (FIRST PERSON ADVENTURE) when ppl discuss metroid, nintendo should make more FPA's instead of boring sci-fi metroid over and over again, i like the perspective, but not the sci fi theme, i medevil or gyption fpa where u travel from town to town, almost like oblivion, needs to be made for wii.

THe only ranged weapons in those times were: slings, bows, crossbows, chu ko nus (Chinese weapon), and maybe a rock. I don't think that's enough variety.

Miyamoto hates FPS games, Nintendo won't be making any FPS or FPA anytime soon.

As soon as 1:1 or close enough comes around. That will be a workable option. However, I still feel like First Person Melee combat always feels a bit too close for comfort. I think that something needs to happen to fix the range issues as well. Then I'll agree.

Right now, it isn't feasible and Oblivion has it's merits, but a game that open isn't to my liking. Leave that kind of non-linear gameplay for MMO titles and keep the 1 player experience a set experience.

To be honest, there are too many FPS games in general. Rather than make a game to fit a genre, find a genre that works best for a game. After all thats what they did with Metroid.

In my opinion, the game needs to have limits, but not set in stone. I like it when I simply don't have the tools to handle areas I shouldn't have arrived in yet, rather than a linear game path. However, the go anywhere and do anything theme of Oblivion was WAY over the top.
