People say this games great, but when i played it i felt let down. I want to know why, if you've played it, you like this game. I'm considering getting Yoshi's Island instead.

I think NSMB was sort of a let down also. I think Yoshi Island is much better(review in blog).

I have both games and i think they are very equal in gameplay, and syuff like that. I recommend Yoshis Island because of its adventure. NSMB is a great game but Yoshis Island is just a little better. :D

I like it because not only do you get the main game, but you also get Mario vs. Luigi and all those cool minigames.

Yoshi's Island is a much bigger game in my opinion and with a tad higher difficulty. New Super Mario Bros is a bit too short and easy to really be much of an engaging experience with nothing new or innovative to have at least kept me too interested. A few trips to the potty and that game has been retired to the rack. If you like 2D scrollers, Yoshi's island isn't a bad pick up.

Youre right!  I was expecting much more out of this game.  Although there are some alternative routes and stuff, it doesn't have that sense of accomplishment when you're playing it.  It was a letdown, and I sorta regret buying it.  I could have easily borrowed my friend's and completed the game in a week!

All you guys are right.  NSMB was the biggest disappointment that I've ever had in purchasing a game.  The game was way too easy, way too short, and the minigames were identical to SM64 DS and there was nothing "new" to the game besides the giant mushroom and the blue shell.  The giant mushroom can make you defeat the final bowser battle in 5 seconds or less and made you able to defeat a level on your first try.  For the blue shell, I rarely got that item and when I got it, I would usually die with it.

I think you forgot that mini mushroom, the one that makes u super small, i dont think its ever been in any previous mario games, correct me if im wrong. And yea NSMB was 2 easy and 2 short, it would of been better if it was longer and more challenging.
