Ever since I saw The World Ends With You on DS I just dreamed of something new from SE showing up on the Wii. Right now all I know that's coming to the Wii from SE is FF Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers and there hasn't been any news, pictures, videos or interviews since mid 2007. I'd like to see SE do something that we haven't seen before for Wii that is fresh, fun and deep at the same time. The DS is obviously the favorite of SE for RPGs and other franchises but it's time the Wii go some attention. The World Ends With You was a great idea for the DS and it was made by Tetsuya Nomura, person behind Kingdom Hearts, which really made the game great. What are the chances Wii will get some better SE support?livinitup01
I wouldnt say that, since the PSP is getting Parasite Eve 3, FFXIII Agito and the better version of KH
I'm still waiting for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
Also I think that Square could improve on Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon and have a great series for the Wii (it's gong to be better on the DS)

LOL, that's only 3 games though. Yeah the PSP does have the power of a PS2 in a handheld but the majority of SE's franchises are on DS (Dragon Quest: Joker and Slime, Valkyrie Profile, Final Fantasy 3, 4 and Tactics, Chrono Trigger, Harmonix, The World Ends With You and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days). They only started supporting the PSP in 2006. Birth by Sleep may look better but the one of DS is the carry on from Kingdom Hearts 2 where you find out more about Roxas. Birth by Sleep is more like a prequel than a sequel.
I would love to see square release some more hardcore type games for the wii. There is an audience that wants more content in that vein.Vriess12
Yeah, I don't see why they aren't showing enough support in terms of hardcore titles. I guess they don't want to compete with Mario and other hardcore Nintendo franchises that much and/or they must still think the Wii is a casual/kid's platform. It makes sense in that regard. SE doesn't have to make a game with waggle in it just because it's on the Wii. Chocobo's Dungeon didn't have that much at all. In another light the Wii is the most popular console this gen so if they can do a quality game for the Wii it could sell like hot cakes. I guess they don't view the Wii as a hardcore gamer's console in comparison to Playstation and Microsoft. Yeah the Wii doesn't have the same amount of power as a 360 or PS3 but you can still make a graphically outstanding game on the Wii that is unique, different and deep. At this point I think SE knows that hardcore people who own a Wii but love Kingdom Hearts and FFXIII will buy a 360 or a PS3 just to play those games. A sad thought but it's true. I did that with Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2.

birth by sleep and 358/2 days are both PREQUELS
majority of the DS square-enix games are just remakes, Parasite Eve 3 FFXIII Agito and Dissidia FF would blow the vast majority of those square-enix DS games away

I would because while the PSP gets 4 games
The DS gets DQIV, DQV, DQVI, DQIX, KH 358/2, Chrono Trigger, and others.
Right now we have 3 games (I think not sure if more) from SE for the wii. DQ, FFF: Chocobo Dungeon, and their working on FFCC.

Yeah they're remakes because SE knows that Nintendo gamers were the ORIGINAL FF fans before Playstation came along. There are only 3 remakes on DS from SE, Dissidia is a spin-off from the FF series and so was the recent FF7 PSP spinoff and Agito was a last minute change from mobile to PSP which doesn't really count. The World Ends With You and Harmonix aren't remakes at all but brand new efforts. BTW, the PSP got a number of FF remakes too like FF 1 and 2 so it's not just DS. SE just put them on DS because they new that people wouldn't complain like little babies if the game wasn't running in 720p on a 10 in. widescreened PSP, with 3D models and all that stuff. Plus, kids who weren't born when the originals came out or newcomers to the FF series can start from the beginning of FF and get up to speed with what's going on now because of the remakes. Also, a game isn't better just because it's in HD and 3D. Graphical definition and 3D can be a hinderence especially when the camera is concerned.

I think he means the favorite between the wii and ds, because if you look at the psp 360 and ps3, I would say they get alot more of their quality work than either ds or wii.
agito and PE3 are mobile phone game-ports from what i've read. Please Log In to post.
