The list of three who have been ousted has been confirmed for quite some time, while pleas for another Metroid character and more familiar Mario characters have been duly noted as well. It does not surprise me that this revalation is true, and since the lead designer is independant of Nintendo, he can announce anything whenever he pleases. I for one welcome Ridley and WW link, however i dissaprove of baby bowser, since he would have Donkey Kong type stats without the ability to charge an attack. I hope that Baby Bowser has the abiliity to throw something, since that is a glaring fault about playing as a tank (cept Dr. Mario).

Kid Icarus is hells overrated. Buying it for the VC was a bad choice.

I'm talkin about the NES original. K.I. is really frustrating and average, but it has a cult following. I consider myself an oldschool gamer, yet I find it hard to appreciate that game. I think honoring Kid Icarus with a character in SSBB is a bad move and I stand by it.
You know what's a great NES game that deserves a character? Battletoads.

It's not BAD it's just average. For it's time it was original and fun, but the gameplay hasn't aged too gracefully. The difficulty is really high, and it's just not that great.
I just think they could've picked a better new character.
I still don't know how reliable this is, I will wait to see if places like IGN and GS pick up on it. I mean Young Link being out is believable, and even Game and Watch to an extent, but not the ice climbers they were one of the unique characters in the game. It would be much more believable for them to remove characters like mewtwo and pichu before the Ice climbers.

Bowser is really big aswell, and they made him smaller. so they can make Ridley Smaller aswell, also in the first Metroid Ridley was the same size as Samus and in the first Super Mario Bros. Bowser was the same size as Big Mario, but in the other Mario games Bowser was alot bigger then Mario, same with Ridley.
Why does everyone hate WW Link? Plus he's just gonna be like Young Link like no one has complained that they took out OoT Link to put in TP Link now did they? This just the way things change. Think about it if you want to keep Young Link then you have to add Oot Link,LttP Link,MM Link(the white hair one)and all the others as well. I don't know about you but I don't want 5-6 Links in this game and be like a DBZ game and have 10 versions of Goku do you? Oh by the way if they took any Melee Chars. out the first one needed to go would have to be Pichu. There's no logic behind him! A smaller Pikachu that hurts yourself? Come On!

its No Rumor, Sakurai Himself said it on a Tokyo Radio's "The Game show". it is a rumor. the people that claimed he said it were basing it off a rough translation and were not even sure it was him speaking.

Ridley can fit Bowser is usually big in every Mario game after Super Mario Bros. Bowser is alot bigger then Mario, and so is Ridley they only Shruck Bowser to make him smaller they can do the same with Ridley, also in the first Metroid Ridley was the same size as Samus, so even though this is false news Ridley can still work in SSBB.
Please people, don't call him "Wind Waker Link", just call him young Link. He's also appeared in the Minish Cap, Four Swords Anventures and is going to appear in the upcoming Phantom Hourglass.
