Okay so I got to the top and I'm not sure how to beat the Boss(?) Do I just keep jumping on him or throw those little ball things at him?

first boss I'm pretty sure all I did was spam him with fireballs. However if you are starting out without a power, like most bosses he should die just by jumping on hm at the right time (don't jump on him when he spins around though, I think it hurts you, but I'm not sure)

if i remember correctly its just what the guy above me said, you jump on his head 3 times for every boss at the right time.
