this game was so horrible... I can't even describe it. This is coming from a hardcore N fanboy. The one on ds was good but this was not acceptable. Propeller hats??? plus **** graphics and boring levels...seemed so bland and unoriginal. I could tolerate sunshine but this I cannot even play more then 30 minutes.. worse then sunshine in terms of fun for me.ssj_neo

If you have the game why not invite friends over to play it? Hell, force them too. The game is really fun with more than one player. Me and a friend were always bumping each other off the levels by mistake or fighting over a little square to stand on because we thought of the same idea.

Games that have disappointed me.... mario tennis for gamecube mario party 4-7, (8 was ok) Mario Sunshine (Cannot make myself play past 40 stars) Mario kart Double Dash Super mario brothers for wii games that were fun but were hampered by the wii's controller excite truck - was fun but controls were not up to nintendo's standard, plus where is excitebike? mario kart wii - was good haven't played but it looks like ds version so I assume it is good. red steel - This game was fun for what it was... if you got used to the controls it was not bad. One of the only games to get at launch and it delivered (for me), this to me was better then red steel 2 (in terms of graphics) and story. red steel 2 - great controls but graphics were not great....enemies all look same... the conduit - decent (7.5) animal crossing wii - ????? why did i rent this game? pokemon pearl/heart gold/silver.etc - yet another rehash, nintendo have killed pokemon for me (it ended with crystal) why no pokemon game for wii????? There is nothing on wii right now... galaxy 1 and 2 have pass and there is nothing galaxy 1 - good but was boring for me.. soundtrack was good graphics were flawless but lacked something... yet again gimmick with collect shards great game tho very challenging we finally get to play as luigi. Cons - bee suit.. ice suit... flower power up.. seem pointless worst hub i've played in mario game best thing about game was the difficulty. galaxy 2 - great, yoshi was implemented well but did not finish this game tired of spherical worlds and waggle to get to the next objective (even tho graphics are stunning). New Super Mario Bros. Wii was great! Multiplayer was fun. The game is easier with two players, harder with four.:lol:

Things I would have liked added:

Peach! Nintendo Power had asked Miyamoto about that and he said it would be hard animating her dress when she jumped or something like that. They could have just done something similar to how she jumps in SSBB...:roll:

Vs. mode. Yes there is a coin battle, but its not as fun as DS Vs. For one, you can't hit each other and competing to get the most coins, not so fun for me.

New Super Mario Bros is awesome with 4 players, one of my favorite 2D side-scrollers

Yeah, I've enjoyed it immensely. Beat it a few months ago and had two gaming sessions with it earlier today. Might try to finish it again tomorrow and work on getting the coins some time later.

ya you should experience the game by yourself and with others. and come on the game is actually pretty good.

I thought it was really fun, especially with other people. Anyone will play it and the difficulty gets insanely chaotic (and funny) with everyone messing you up.

I disagree with both of you. I find the singler player to be quite good; though the lack of being able to play as any character you want was left out. But I liked the Propeller and Penguin Suit. Made it more fun to play around with new powers. As well; you don't need more players to enjoy it.

The game does have silly outfits and terrible graphics, there's no denying Nintendo got a little lazy with it to get it ready for the 2009 holiday season since that year they only had Wii Fit Plus, Punch-Out!! and ExciteBots (as far as I can remember for notable titles at least without doing a search :P), but it isn't a 'horrible' game like he describes it. It was fun, but with a little more polish it could have been so much better. The two Galaxy games are much better Mario experiences for the Wii. Hell, with VC, NSMBW isn't even the best 2D Mario title for the Wii. Why pay $50 when for a fraction of the cost you can download Super Mario World or New Super Mario Bros 3?

Still, I enjoyed my time with the game, but I do agree a bit with the guy: it could have been better, but it was fun for what it was I guess.

I didn't really like the game much. Yes, they did add a few new things, but other than that, this game was basically a remake of the one for the DS. (Well, it actually is...)

I'm gonna place a bet right here and say the guy likes Zelda. It wasn't on his list, and everybody likes Zelda right? Who doesn't like Zelda? NOBODY! He likes Zelda. I stand by this. And Metroid, he likes Metroid too.

As a serious game? Maybe. As an over-the-top, crazy, awesomely awesome game? Not a chance. And with this game I much prefer the latter.

Oh also, I played through the game with my girlfriend -- as well as a run-through by myself -- and not only were we able to beat the game but it was a lot more fun overall.

OK, NSMBW is fun in a group as long as you don't really intend on finishing it. It's a definite party game, no doubt about that. But as a game to play through in a traditional way it's better solo. I've only completed solo but I've played many levels coop. I much prefer it solo myself, but that's just me.

Never played it, but the general opinion is that the game is better suited played alone because the levels are designed for only 1 player.
