Just wondering how the New Super Mario Bros. for Wii is. I am not a hardcore fan of the Wii and only have a few games (Smash Bros, Metroid, Zelda). However, I am an old school gamer, but mostly play 360 and PS3. Thanks

Its a very great game, every wii owner should have it. Its tons of fun single player and co-op you will definitently enjoy it, and its true its pretty defficult the hardest and best in the series. If you are still not satisfied its mario you cant go wrong with him there not a single bad mario game. (not including the cdi and virtuial boy)
its a great game for fun but just for chilling not for hardcore gameing lolrayz321
Please define "hardcore gaming".
It's easily one of the most well designed 2D platformers of all time. This game actually made my jaw drop on several occasions just due to the pure brilliance of some levels.
My jaw hasn't dropped from a video game in about 5 years now. WOW thank you New Super Mario Bros. Wii!
I can't wait to play multiplayer with this game! I hear it's a blast!
My only gripe with the game is that the overworld is kind of weak. It's not as good as Super Mario World's or New Super Mario Bros. for the DS.
I was disappointed in the Game. Got it together with my limited Wii and firstly played it alone, after about 10 levels I stopped. Then I restarted from the beginning with my gf, my brother and a friend, again, after 10 levels we were bored and played something else :S Especially since you own a PS3: I got through LBP 3 times, one time alone, one time with my gf (local) and one time with my friend online (when he got it new) :/
Great game with fantastic local coop but the game could be so much better.
If MK Wii can have online why cant NSMB?

I agree. I think the game is great but they could've added wifi for people like me that don't have anyone to play with locally :P There are actually a few other things about the game that they could've done to improve it...imo. But overall it's a great game, I've beaten it 100% and it's really fun. Also there's an added bonus if you beat the game without unlocking the superquide, which makes the game a bit more challenging. So if you like other Mario games then I'd say definitely get NSMB.I think it is an exelent game if you have someone to play it with. The local multiplayer is excelent and makes the game worth buying.
If you're alone, it is still a good game, nicely designed, the difficulty is mostly old-school, there are lots of levels but it feels it could be better somehow.
Btw, do you guys consider this game hardcore or casual? Because once I had it at home I changed my mind to something more casual, all the family plays it now(some more skilled than the others ofc) and even friends come over to insult each other playing! I could never convince my younger brothers playing the original Super Mario Bros.
i breezed through it in single player (the answer to all your "did you get/complete all _________ is yes), and it was okay. however, i'm playing through the game with my wife and it's 10x better. you'll probably buy it no matter what, but multiplayer is a must in my opinion to really enjoy the game.

I don't know where you come off insinuating that LBP is more enjoyable than NSMBWii. Oh wait theres nothing but PS3 jargon in your profile/avatar. For someone who has actually played both completely I can easily say that NSMBWii> LBP IMO.

lol xD The avatar is from Star Craft, a PC game, I own EVERY next gen system out there. my sig includes PSN, XBL and my Wii friend code. it is right that I own mostly Ps3 games because I get multiplat games on that system and that I have only a few Wii games 8since it's the last system I got), but how in the world does it change anything. I have 3 persons that feel the same way I do. Don't know why, maybe because we grew old with Sonic Games or whatever, but it stays FACT that me, my girlfriend, my brother and a friend of me enjoyed LBP more, MUCH more than NSMB :/
It's awesome! I've been playing it nonstop. If you're gonna play multiplayer, play free for all or coin battle unless you have a Mario vet to play co op campaign with. It's also great in single player
I'll never understand why people keep complaining that there's no wifi though. It just isn't appropriate for all games.
I do understand why people want wifi in the game, because it will add replay value.
I think online leaderboards would work pretty well.
tom95b
How would it add replay value, and what would the leader boards be based on? Score?
I really, really loved it, it brought me back to the 90's and Super Mario All Stars.
My top five games of the year across all systems.
