Here are my reasonings for FF3 sucking: - repetitive turn based combat doing the same thing again n again n again n again - crap story (come on... "U R TEH CHOSEN ONES, U MUST GO NOW KTHX, GO FIND A MITHRIL RING TO FREE US OF THIS STICKMEN CURSE LOLZ") - no sense of direction or anything, if you actually go where you're supposed to go, you'll soon realise you're much to low of a level to do anything worth while and die instantly. - just, boring. NSMB on the other hand is fun :D
FF3 will last you longer, but NSMB will probably be some of the funnest 3 or 4 hours you'll have playing the DS. Yes, the game is beatable in just a few hours. I think FF3 is a game everyone should play, it by far uses the DS's power the most, it's a very nice game. If I could go in your positioning with the knowledge I have of both games, I would of pick FF3.
NSMB is the biggest waste of money ever. It will take you about 2 hours to complete and the gameplay is identical to every other mario game before it. FF3 is a very fun game and will last about.....20x longer...no competition ff3. NSMB is pretty lame.

Imo FF3 lasts so much longer because it's so repetitive..
I have both and they are both very good, but Mario took me about 8 hours to beat (4 days) while Final Fantasy took over 30 hours. It really depends on what genre you prefer. FF3 offers a long single player campaign but little replay value after that. Mario you can be beat real quick (no shortcuts either) but there is still plenty to do and a fun multiplayer mode after that. I would personally go with FF3, but its up to you.

Totally agree with you. NSMB was way too easy, way too quick, minigames are identical to SM64 DS, too expensive($35 for it), and I definitely wish I used my money purchasing this game for a different one. I've never played FF3, but I've played FF1 and FF4 and liked them. I'm assuming it's identical to them, so I'd go with FF3.
