New Super Mario Maker Preview Video Released

A new preview video for Super Mario Maker has been released. In the video Nintendo explains a bunch of the new features that will come with the game when it comes out on September 11, 2015. Some of the highlights include

• Tool unlock feature
• New sound effects
• Music Block Sounds
• Full list of compatible Amiibo including the 30th anniversary Mario Amiibo

Also Super Mario Maker is now available for pre-order at select locations and can be pre-loaded from Nintendo and ready to enjoy on launch. So far i hear Amazon Prime members and Bestbuy Club Members have a good deal going on for the physical pre-orders. Gamestop also has pre-orders up that come with a free poster.

Still gonna buy it, but I HATE the idea of having to play for a set amount of time each day to actually unlock certain items. I want everything available from the start so I can actually build some fun levels.

@azure64bit: Yeah, i was wondering about that feature, i think all levels with voice might either go through a reviewing process or something. Not sure how theyre gonna do that yet.

I think i hate the idea of having to turn the game off and resetting the clock 9 times even more, lol. its just a pain in the ass Nintendo is going to make me do this... because I'm not waiting 10 days to play with all the tools when i get the game.

@isturbo1984: Good point. Hope that's possible, otherwise the first week or so of the games life will just be remakes of world 1-1 from SMB.

I don't know if there has ever been a Mario game like this. I think Super Mario Maker will sell consoles...I can see myself making some levels with my little girl. Your library will not be complete without this game, and you can see the anticipation in the comments above this post. The use of the Amiibo in this game is a nice touch. I am looking forward to playing some of the games you are going to make fellow gamers.

Does anyone know if you can make your own maps?

@sonic_spark: Just the levels, the game generates a preview map for you, but thats about it so far. Your basically creating levels and like when i click on your name ill see all your level names how ever you name them. If i understand what your asking you cant create a world map for a set of levels.

If you ask me, it seems like a missed opportunity.

@sonic_spark: True, but expecting people to create full worlds would be asking a little much. Most will be overwhelmed just doing one level much less doing a full set to fill a world map.

@mesome713: Yeah I think, just staring at a blank slate is what scared a lot of people in LBP. Anyway, seems like it doesn't limit you in anyway, you can do most anything it looks like. Picking this one up on launch day.
