Might make playing N64 games easier I guess. It add's two shoulder buttons, spaces out the analog more and has a new design to it.

Are gamecube controllers still being sold? If so what's the point of making a controller like that?

This is kinda annoying if Nintendo makes games where you HAVE to use that controller or a gamecube one. I bought a classic controller so I would be able to play all the games. We'll see what happens.

1. Yes. They even just made a white version to match the Wii... 2. They're not widely available. Many stores have ceased to carry GC controllers. Plus, there is brand confusion. Ninty isn't very good about explaining things. To the newly introduced player, it doesn't make sense to buy a GameCube controller for your Wii, just as you wouldn't buy an Xbox controller for it. It's a different platform, right? You need something plastered with the brand name "Wii" so they know it works with it.

I kind of like that design. If I ever come across a game where it seems like it would be better played with that than my old gamecube controllers, I'll probably buy one. I haven't ever even used a classic controller before. I just hope someday they'll make use of its two analog sticks by making a good shooter for the wii supporting the classic controller.

funny. i saw something similar to this on the Playstation 2. oh wait! it looks JUST like a PS2 controller.

PS2 happens to be my favorite controller of all time, so I feel right at home with this design.

I'll need to get some regular Classic Controllers first.

This looks promising. I wonder what Nintendo has up their sleeve?

I like the simple modifications that they made with this new joystick. First of all the cord is on the top of the joystick. I hope that I no longer have to tell people that they are holding the classic controller upside down. This joystick may look like the gamecube joystick but in actuality it has the gamepad located high up and it is larger which helps with older games that just don't seem to work with the analog stick. The gamecube controller is one of the most comfotable joysticks I have ever used on any system and this new design makes for a comfortable fit, a new button or two (L1 L2- like ps2), and a better placement of the cord. Well done, as long as the price is not too steep, I might ask for one for my bday or next xmas.

I still think that the best controller that Nintendo has yet made was the Gamecubes controller.

Indeed. One of the best controllers I have ever used.

Wii Remote is good, too. It was a bit akward at first, but once you get past that, it's a really comfortable controller.

What the hells up with Nintendo?...how can they be struggling to come up with ideas for controllers? just release a damn basic one and be done with, the Wii classic control is crap from all the ones I have used, I would have prefered a original Gamecube controller they were much, much better.

I thought the SNES's was their best in terms of comfort and button layout. I found the GC controller a bit uncomfortable at times and the layout of the face buttons wasn't the best. Ninty from the SNES on should have modeled there controllers off that design which Sony had basically done and now the classic controller looks to have revisted.

Well, now nobody should have any complaints about playing fighting games on the Wii. Especially no Playstation fanboys/girls. I actually like the design of BOTH Classic Controllers but this one does incorporate the shoulder buttons alot better (I hated reaching all the way over the first shoulder button on the original just to hit the second button). I'll get this one just to see which one feels better especially with fighting games. Now there is also no excuse to companies not making fighting games on the Wii besides innovation purposes.

It looks like a regular cIassic controller, just fitted into another shell. Anyway, do we know the price? Do you think it'll just be $20?

I have yet to play any game that utilizes every single button on the Classic Controller. Do any games compatible with the Classic Controller even use the analog features of the L and R Buttons?

Funny you say that, since the original Playstation controllers were modeled after the SNES controllers, hehe.
