It would be cool if the Wii could connect to a USB flash drive.I don't think it can i'm afraid. However, 360 demos can be around 500mb so i'm sure Wii demo's will be at best around the 300 mark, not forgeting internal memory or something lol. Either way, just shift VC games onto PC and free up space for your demos!
.....can it?

I still don't see how this will be done considering the limitation of the systems memory, but I still want a DS Channel.ozzsoad
I still dont see how more than one or two decent sized demos would fit on the 512MB memory.mattyftmWhy in every thread that mentions wii demos people quickly forget it has usb ports and can use sd cards. All it would take is a firmware update to let us save the demos to a usb hd or sd card.

I think a demo channel could work like this, if you don't have them saved to an SD card or something. Once you click on the demo channel it will pull down a list of current available demos and rather than download them to the console you play them from the channel. You wouldn't need any disk space and the game would be constantly available. smileyryder34That makes sense

Oh yeah, that's true, just like the DS demos being played from the nintendo wi-fi, The DS doesn't have a hard drive or any kind of storage, and it works just fine.

Erm, I think the DS downloads the demo to itself. Playing a game off what is basically a networked drive might be a little slow. Also, you can take that DS demo anywhere until you turn off the system, so it doesn't require you to stay near the download station. If a "Demo Channel" were to be put to use the demos would most likely be put to SD card, or external device via firmware update.[QUOTE="OceanLeet"]It would be cool if the Wii could connect to a USB flash drive.I don't think it can i'm afraid. Supposedly there'll be some internet service that will allow a person to use the memory on their pc for their wii so he/she won't have to purchase a hard drive. Unfortunately it's only a rumor but I think it's possible because it happened with the xbox 360.couchpotatoe387Doesn't sound like something Nintendo would do sadly. Being a family console, you'd think Nintendo would make sure you wouldn't need any extra gadgets or gizmos to get the most out of the console.
I think it's just video-demos of the games.SuzumeCakeIf this is true, then we wouldn't need bigger hard drives, as it could just use a small block of memory for streaming video off the internet. Streaming video wouldn't need any more that a 10MB buffer, perhaps in a pre-existing memory cache, such as the internet channel cache.
